Then why didn’t GE and Phillips apply to make rough service bulbs?

we have to beg them for permission?Yep. We have to ask them if we may make a living. And this guy is one of the shrinking number willing to invest a lot of money knowing that they can retract his permission whenever Moochelle wakes up in a bad mood. I wish him great success. After the big companies ceased manufacturing in the U.S., I figured that was just one more industry we'd lost.

The 75 and 100 watt incandescent lamps we’ve bought over the past couple of years have been terribly weak. Give the lamp a good bump and the filament breaks. I’d say we lose more bulbs from mild bumps than from normal end of life.

Thanks for the link. Better product for one third the price.

I agree. They seem to burn out just as the ladder is put away.
I bought a bunch of 100’s over ebay a long while back. Brass base, and seem to last forever. They came in nice packaging and didn’t cost much more than local store price.

All the incandescent bulbs I can find are Made In China. I am so happy to have this new resource.

Then why didnt GE and Phillips apply to make rough service bulbs? That's a good question. I can only imagine that their profit margins didn't meet corporate goals. So, the little upstart guy steps in and tries to make a go of it.

Ok... They are going to ban the size. But "Y" adapters exist, 2 50's or 60's in one of these...

60w bulbs will be gone by 2014. The 75’s go next year.

Greetings mnehring:
FedGov $50 final consumer cost after the democRat,Inc. venture-socialism federal subsidy.
For our outdoor security light applications, we re-lamped all of our former mercury vapor outdoor lighting applications with our local WallyWorld’s $38.00 LED 150 watt equivalent floods. Ground level illumination roughly the same as the former mercury vapor lamps. Globe illumination close, but not nearly as bright.
Cheers,
OLA

They sell other incandescent bulbs on their website.
I’ve purchased a couple of 24 packs from them and they seem to keep going like the Engergizer bunny! It’s kind a weird not having to change bulbs all the time.

There is an incadescent light bulb that has been burning almost continually for 110 years years. (Shelby light bulb)

I heard the interview. Rush crashed their website. A very “brilliant” move on Rush’s part.
