Rush Limbaugh has drawn the ire of celebrity lawyer Gloria Allred, who sent a letter to the Palm Beach County state attorney requesting an investigation into whether the popular radio host should be prosecuted for calling a law student a slut and prostitute last week.
Mr. Limbaugh targeted his attack on a young law student who was simply exercised her free speech and her right to testify before congress on a very important issue to millions of American women and he vilified her. He defamed her and engaged in unwarranted, tasteless and exceptionally damaging attacks on her, Allred told POLITICO Friday afternoon. He needs to face the consequences of his conduct in every way that is meaningful.
In a letter dated March 8, Allred, writing on behalf of the Womens Equal Rights Legal Defense and Education Fund, requested that Palm Beach County State Attorney Michael McAuliffe probe whether the conservative radio personality had violated Section 836.04 of the Florida Statutes by calling Georgetown University law student Sandra Fluke the two derogatory words.
The statute stipulates that anyone who speaks of and concerning any woman, married or unmarried, falsely and maliciously imputing to her a want of chastity is guilty of a misdemeanor of the first degree. Allred explained that the statute recently came to her attention as having never been repealed, and that it could very well apply to Limbaughs remarks as his show is broadcast from West Palm Beach.
It is now entirely up to the prosecutor to exercise his discretion on whether there will be a prosecution. McAuliffe did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Allred, whose most recent high-profile clients have included Sharon Bialek, who accused Herman Cain of sexual harassment, and porn star Ginger Lee, who exchanged explicit emails with former Rep. Anthony Weiner, said Friday that she has not yet been in touch with Fluke.
I dont reach out to women, they reach out to me, she said. If she did reach out to me, obviously I would respond.
Limbaughs contentious remarks, made against Fluke for testifying on Capitol Hill about womens access to contraception, resulted in widespread public outrage and dozens of advertisers pulling their commercials from his three-hour program.

I understand why sponsors are abandoning Mr. Limbaugh in droves, Allred said. I think sponsors that remain with him are supporting him and providing commercial dollars to him and his program, condoning what he said.
She added, Hitting him economically is one price that he has to pay. He needs to be accountable in every way possible.
Like to see someone take Gloria Allred up in an R-44 to about 5000 feet and push her sorry publicity chasing ass out.
I remember watching a 20/20 interview with John Stossel back in 1990’s, who was questioning the lowerering of physical standards so women could be become fireighters.. There is one standard that a firefighter must able to carry person out of a fire on their shoulders but since most women can’t do that, they changed the andard so they only had to DRAG the person by their foot out of the fire.. They demonstrated this procedure and added the situation where they had to drag them down the stairs which caused a problem because the victims head would hit each step as he was being drug out of the house causing serious head and neck injures. This bimbo and stupid lawyer daughter stated dragging a person out by the legs was a safer procedure than carrying over the shoulder even when presented with facts that obvious showed otherwise.. I remember my wife was sort buying feminist crap at that time, but after that interview she no longer did.
Allred...
I’ve always felt this Bolshevik in drag had the perfect name. Some jokes just write themselves.
Exactly why this is all bluff and bluster.
Gloria is one of those narcissistic zombies who’s had so many cosmetic surgeries that she no longer appears to be human.
Like blowflies to a corpse.
Good thing you got rid of her...
I find it amusing that there’s a Black comedian named George Wallace.
It really is scary to think that someone could be prosecuted for saying certain words. (Other than shouting “fire” in a theatre).
When I first heard of the comedian George Wallace (25 years ago) I thought it was amusing too.
Isn’t he in that new Eddie Murphy movie ‘A Thousand Words’?
Ms. Allred is the epitome of an Ambulance Chaser she also demeans the legal profession...she is a hustler whose ethics are always questionable and not to be trusted. I wish the ABA would revoke her license to practice, they certainly have grounds for revoking it.
There. I fixed it.
I'm surprised that All Red doesn't see the irony here.
What the left was cheering about, the possible demise of Limbaugh, did not happen. Instead, the double standard has gone front and center.
Interesting. Sounds like that might have to be settled in court.
According to the Republican National Convention Blog, this is what Rush said:
RUSH: What does it say about the college co-ed Sandra Fluke, who goes before a congressional committee and essentially says that she must be paid to have sex, what does that make her? It makes her a slut, right? It makes her a prostitute. She wants to be paid to have sex. She's having so much sex she can't afford the contraception. She wants you and me and the taxpayers to pay her to have sex. What does that make us? We're the pimps. (interruption) The johns? We would be the johns? No! We're not the johns. (interruption) Yeah, that's right. Pimp's not the right word. Okay, so she's not a slut. She's "round heeled." I take it back.
So Rush assigned humorous descriptions to the actors in this play and provided humorous speculation about their motives. In context, he was clearly not referring to Fluke's actual sexual proclivities, and he was not being serious. Also, he retracted the word "slut" almost immediately after he used it.
...she will be paid off where she can continue doing her nasty work.
Yes. Rush's comments have probably dramatically increased her income and improved her social life. Where are the damages?
