So I was right for going on a bacon diet?

It seems the old “bad” fats are back with the old misbeliefs and lies debunked, while the old “good” fats are seen to be of less virtue than believed.
There’s an excellent point here about the irritation of the linings of blood vessels. Peanut oil, one of the supposedly old “good” fats, a product that is harvested from immature green peanuts, is now known for contributing to such irritation. Maybe it makes more health sense to use corn or soy oils for that big turkey frying project — they are almost as heat capable as peanut.
So can I start smoking again?
Let’s throw out 50 years of peer-reviewed published research and instead go with some retired doc who sells T-shirts, 9/11 conspiracy books, and “channeling” seminars on the sidebar. Yes, of course, eat less processed food but that isn’t the answer for most.
LOL, who was the old hippie that said eating trees would make you live forever, I think he is in the same place as the doc that said starving yourself helped also.
i’d read some of this before- this article fleshed it out and you’re doing a service by posting it
It took an awful long time for these “peers” to notice that hydrogenated fats like Crisco really weren’t all that wonderful for you in spite of being all vegetable. That said, I don’t think the doc is doing anything but summarizing the most modern biological understanding.

WRONG!
Unless you don't think there's anything wrong with GMO laced foods - you don't mind eating Monsanto's Frankenfoods? That goes for Rape seed oil too (Canola). Most all of US corn, soy ad Canola are grown with GMO's - and now they are reaching for alfalfa.
Grape seed oil, coconut oil are excellent for cooking AND heath. They also have a higher burn point. Real butter - organic (without growth hormones, antibiotics, etc) is far better than other spreads...and ghee (rendered butter) is even better.
Lard is a VERY healthy fat but hard to get healthy lard.
Hormels is about the only company that still makes it but it has been hydrogenated. You need to render your own from organic fat back.
Also, research "homocysteine" in relation to the heart. Homocycteine causes inflammations - the real culprit in heart disease.
The very inexpensive folate acid pills are touted to keep it in check.
WE are fortunate today. We have the Internet for research. We no longer have to take as gospel whatever we're told.
That’s him, here have some pine chips. LOL
I heard this on Rush today. I have believed that this low-fat craze is a scam for a long time. It certainly isn’t working. I’m very happy that it’s being challenged.
Great article....my doctor told me this 5 years ago. Inflammation the worst thing for your heart. That inflammation is brought on by bacteria or viruses or other causes. Best test to get is the inflammation test.
It’s not the healthy who clamor for Obamacare, but the sick.
Statins! Low fat! Whole grains! Soy milk! Seed oils!
(Run the other way, folks.)
