Don’t know if you saw this on FR awhile ago - comedian Trevor Noah from South Africa. He jokes how he always wanted to come to America to be a “black man”. (He’s mixed race from South Africa). At 2:35 he makes a funny comment about “African Americans”.
I watched some of his other interviews and surprised how serious he was - and REALLY interesting to hear him speak about how comedy is gaining popularity in Africa. He said there used to be “joke tellers”, and “funny men” - but no real comedy - so it is still in its infancy in Africa. Amazing some of those interviews. “Well you know, its tough to make a wise crack of your president and then they throw you in jail.”
He might just want to watch what he wishes for. Everyone in this country has their ideas about what a black man is supposed to be, or not be.
Come to think about it, that probably goes for every racial type. This country is just nuts on the subject. It wears me out.
