Visitor logs show that Derrick A. Bell visited the White House at least twice since President Obama took office. The logs show two visits by an individual of that name on January 29 and 31, 2010.
Derrick Albert Bell, the late Harvard professor and controversial scholar in the field of Critical Race Theory has been thrust into national headlines after conservative bloggers at Breitbart.com posted video of Obama lauding his work at a 1991 rally at Harvard.

You know, you sound a great deal like the CNN interviewer who misunderstood the issue, had all of her facts wrong and yet tried to say the same thing. Bell was an extremist of the worst sort, and Americans are getting a whiff of the extremist nonsense that passes for academia in Harvard Law. If that is a 'non-issue' to you, than we will have to agree to disagree.
I have a sneaking suspicion the MSM will make an attempt to portray themselves as starting to look into his past. Of course, everything they “uncover” will be whitewashed (no pun intended) and the useful idiots of the world will declare the conservatives are conspiracy theorist whack-a-doodles. This was evidenced yesterday when they forced Big’s hand by the preemptive showing of the edited video and this morning by having Soledad O’Brien’s rant ready..
Part of the ‘vetting’ of Obama is going to be the vetting/exposure of the media as well .... not so much that they are biased Left, but the extent to which they will go to hide/obstruct/spin anything that has to do with Obama.
This story is a drip drip of media ‘life blood’ .... as we watch the ever-evolving media reaction, desperately trying to keep control of information that they ignored if not actually hid from the American people. The radical professor/Obama association is revealing enough, but the media ‘story’ continues on. The coverup is what is going to bite them in the @ss .... Obama, too.
I don’t like it anymore than you, but I’m telling you it’s political suicide to go down this road.
Nothing to see here, move along.
Now, the next time Limbaugh calls somebody a name, call us! THAT’S a story!
This Derrick Bell tie is a non-issue. Nobody but fellow conservatives cared about Wright or Ayers, and nobody else will care about Bell - except this time it will backfire, with all the Breitbart run-up. People are left saying, is that all? Then we look like douche-bags.
Bell was the first tenured African-American professor of Law at Harvard University. That a young black undergrad said some flattering things about him in an introduction is not news.

Uh huh right.
OK, I’ll look into that. But in the meantime, please consider how often you give the Left more ammo to call you racist.
I know we’re not racist and so do you. But the people in the middle see us harping on shit like this and say, “oh, I guess the liberals are right. Those tea party-types are racist.”

Hmmm.... interesting. Thanks for this thread, Nachum!
No, its possible you could think of it another way.
African men cannot rule nor govern successfully in Africa. History has demonstrated their race’s track record. That’s why they have advanced and achieved so much over the last 2 billion years. Now, that is critical race theory at work.
Give that, what makes them think they can run the most sophisticated machine known to mankind?
He would still be visiting if he wasn’t dead. And the damn MSM wouldn’t say a word.
What is most arresting about critical race theory is that...it turns its back on the Western tradition of rational inquiry, forswearing analysis for narrative. Rather than marshal logical arguments and empirical data, critical race theorists tell stories fictional, science-fictional, quasi-fictional, autobiographical, anecdotal designed to expose the pervasive and debilitating racism of America today. By repudiating reasoned argumentation, the storytellers reinforce stereotypes about the intellectual capacities of nonwhites.
Indeed.
White males who were recognized as the most outstanding scholars in their fields, but weren't flaming liberals, were being black-balled by the liberals as they came up for tenure - because there wasn't a tenured 'woman of color,' among other things.
Bell and his cohorts wanted HLS to consider things besides academic standing, writing, scholarship, etc. - and by-step rules to grant professorships based on life experience and whether a person would bring diversity to the faculty. If HLS didn't have a paraplegic pygmy eskimo lesbian, and a 26-year-old paraplegic pygmy eskimo lesbian who had graduated at the bottom of her class from an unaccredited school three years earlier was available, then she should get the position over a former U.S. Solicitor General, even if the subject was Constitutional Law.
That's what the hubbub was about.

Thanks for the link. This truly is a “must see.”
He was my first thought when I read this too...
