No one has heard of it. You’re not alone. That is the whole point of the campaign. I know about Kony because of some relief work that I have done with my pastor. It is a serious situation and we can do something about it. We sent advisors in 2011... we are not sending an army, but this guy needs to be taken out. Hell a seals team could do it... My point was, conservatives and republicans need to embrace this or risk giving all of the credit to Obama and thus making it a political will issue for us in november. And if for no other reason, it is the Christian thing to do.
I’m thinking that George Bush the Elder and Jeb Bush partook in a private meeting in the White House with Obama at the end of January specifically to talk about Uganda and Kony, amongst other agenda items.

Somehow I get the feeling that if Kony proclaimed himself as a radical atheist, these people wouldn’t care.
My question was, is this Obamas chance to become Mandela, because I see election year hero all over it. That is why I posted a thread.

Interesting theory, if true!! That would mean this has been planned for a very long time, much longer than the video suggests....I don’t know, I’m just getting a lot of red flags going up. More investigation needs to be done on this...
I know we have done this sort of thing in the past, but in almost every case there was a need to protect Americans or our interests. We should never attempt to coopt a liberal cause célèbre to prevent Obama from using it first. If you take out one Ugandan warlord, others will spring up like dragon's teeth.
I believe I read in one of the negative articles that Kony hasn’t even been in Uganda since *2006*.
Nelson Mandela is a communist scumbag.
It should be no surprise if Ubanga wants to get the same kind of reputation among African communists (and, I suppose, American blacks). But to believe for a second that a foreign humanitarian intervention would help his re-election chances is goofy.

Mandela was at one time a rabid anti-Communist who resisted their influence in the ANC, until they made him an offer he couldn’t refuse.
Can you say diversion—Keep everyone talking about contraception, how bad Rush is, anything but 5 trillion of debt under zero, no budget for 1,000 days or our spending 300 billion per month while we take in 180 billion. It’s working. We keep falling for it.

IIRC, 4/20 also has some significance to the doper community, and it might be an easy number for hollywood type followers to remember.
