And a lot of people are put off by scenery like that -- especially if there aren't any McDonald's arches every ninety miles or so.

Well, amigo, I could care less about the lack of Mickey Ds. ;-) One of the reasons why I enjoy driving in the Big Bend area is the lack of such things; all I ask for is a petrol station now and again.

Big Bend. One of my favorite parts of the world.

Spent three days on the river there, canoeing thru the Mariscal in the Spring.

Gorgeous country in the Spring -- everything in bloom, from gigantic bluebonnets, to claret cup cacti to the palo verde trees.
