Pretty much all the results in, and Schmidt is behind Brad Wenstrup 43%-49%.
Anyone see this coming?
Who did we want to win that?
Which one is the true conservative?
Good. Never liked her. We’ll more readily keep the District that way too. Just voting conservative isn’t enough for me, You need that plus ... I just never had a good feeling about her as being a decent person. Tough to put my finger on.
Sounds very positive -
Just saw posted on Twitter that her opponent was an Iraq war vet and she struggled to win in the past 2 elections despite the district being very positive R
Local radio here has had many ads running against her by Wenstrup during Rush, Hannity hours. He’s been hitting her on being too close to Obama, which is unfair, and voting for TARP, which is completely fair.
Probably a net gain, although the lefties will crow. I just wonder where Wenstrup got the money. Most of these ads were unanswered by Schmidt, so she either got lazy or was caught off guard.
She also got redistricted, that may be a factor.
This was a long time coming. Jean Schmidt barely hung on every year in either the primary or the general election. I went to high school with Brad Wenstrup. He is an orthopedic doctor and a decorated veteran who deployed for a year of active duty in Iraq. He will make a great congressman.
Redistricting may have been a factor, but this time she even lost Clermont County, her home base. Ouch.
and Dennis the Menes Kucinich lost tonight also..good job even though Marcy Kaptur is pretty worthless but both Democrats so what can one expect.
Nice to see Santourm giving Mitt a run for the money in Ohio as well, but we can all figure the ‘fix is in’ for Mitt.
There was also ethic questions about Jean who took a lot of flack over her hanging on Obama for a picture after the State of the Union. She was also a subject of an SNL skit.

Good. Her district was safe Republican but the GOP always had to spend money on it because she was so unpopular. It would be like the Dems spending having to spend money to win a San Francisco seat.
No, the fix is not in for Mitt. Two-thirds of Ohio voted against him. He’d be toast by now if the not-Mitt vote wasn’t being split.
If Mitt ends up being the nominee it will be conservatives’ fault for not uniting. Romney is utterly vulnerable right now; his only way to survive is if Newt stays in. He can no longer credibly claim that “a big surge is coming.”
It’s not. Look at him finishing dead-last in half the contests on Super Tuesday where his Southern Strategy was going to make him a contender again. From this point on he’s Huckabeeing us.
And so it will be Romney.
Rep. Jean Schmidt (R-OH) Named One of the Most Corrupt Members of Congress

Looks like she is pretty dirty, or at least a little messy, She is from a very Republican district.
Ohio has been re-districted, much to the favor of the GOP. Once the required “majority Minority” (Black) Districts are lined up there is little left for the Democrats.
Much like OH 9 The winner of this primary will be the Congressman. Congradulations Congressman Elect Wenstrup!
That's great. Now he can run for President! :)
No, Sheldon Adelson is.
Wenstrup was the pick of the downtown Cincinnati business/money crowd. We’ll have to wait and see if he’ll be a true conservative voice or simply a vote for the Republican establishment.
His poor wife...
I can't imagine.
Dennis Kucinich lost??
DUmmies must be suicidal!!
she looks ‘grown up’ with the new style.
I was a ‘Buckeye’ for a long, long time and I follow the Cleveland Plain Dealer almost daily, left lots of my friends there..miss them a lot.
