Rick Santorum is just ahead of Mitt Romney in the Ohio Republican presidential primary with 25% of the vote counted.
All eyes were on Ohio, a traditional bellwether state that could play an important role in deciding the Republican nominee to challenge Democratic President Barack Obama on November 6.

Amazing race. Wide open.
I like Rick..I just think he can put off some (like me..and I’m in Pa...because he can be come off too zealous) Yes, I’m a Newt supporter..but congratulations to Rick if he wins Ohio. That is huge.
Considering his huge budget, Romney is really a poorly performing candidate.
Rick nor Mitt can beat Obama.
This is a VERY sad night fro America.
Rick copies Newt and is very boring.
Romney is a fraud.
What a hell of a mess.

David Frum is also greatly saddened.

100% dittos.
Newt is the guy who can defeat Obama. Keeping my fingers crossed that he can, somehow, get back in it.
I hope Rick pulls off the win too. Romney must be defeated, but unfortunately Santorum is a boring speaker. Newt is the superior communicator and has real leadership experience, but good on Rick if he beats Mittens.
I just do not understand where all these Romney voters are coming from. It’s so damned odd.
This is great news for the Conservative movement! The dems will spin it as a floundering repub party- it is the sign that the Tea Party movement (average Joe) is not buying into the gop machine anymore.
They have to listen to us, or put their whigs on and go to their last ball.
We’ll be healthier coming out the other side of this election, come Hell or high water.
No?
Then why are you sad?
Unfortunately he can’t even beat Santorum and Mittster in places like OK and TN.
There’s a lot of misinformed voters. They take Willard’s lies at face value.
Congrats to Santorum and Newt. Romulus is about to hit a serious roadblock. Can U Hear us NOW, ROVE!
