In the days leading to Super Tuesday contests, Rick Santorum stepped away from social issues and bombastic speeches while barnstorming Ohio to recast himself as the underdog whose blue-collar roots would stay true to American values.
Yet the former senator from Pennsylvania lost ground, slipping to a near dead heat with former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney in Ohio, the key state among 10 in which voters will cast ballots today, pollsters said.
"I thought his message has become so unclear on who he is or what he stands for that I am losing confidence on his ability to win the election in November," Dana Kasel, 43, of Perrysburg, Ohio, a Czechoslovakia native who became a U.S. citizen, said of Santorum. "It was his talk about how his grandfather realized the American dream that attracted me."
In a weekend poll of 753 likely GOP primary voters, Romney pulled ahead of Santorum, 34 percent to 31 percent -- a 10-point shift in one week, said Peter A. Brown, assistant director of Quinnipiac University Polling Institute. The survey's 3.6-percentage-point margin of error "makes the Ohio race too close to call, but Romney is the one with the wind at his back," Brown said. (Snip)

Just show up every Saturday night after bath time and you will be fine.
Didn’t expect you to answer - its obvious.
good one.
This is the left-wing propaganda twist on the story.
If Santorum doesn’t win, it will be because all three of the other candidates are viciously attacking him.
Goodness gracious. Ohio exit polls indicate Romney evenly split conservative voters with Santorum. Sigh.
"Santorum may now lose to Romney in Ohio - do you consider it good news, or bad news?"
It doesn't really matter as long as Santorum hurts Newt it makes Bishop Romney happy and keeps lawyer Rickey on track to be VP on the Bishop Romney Vichy Republican ticket.
Yes it was pre-dictable as Santorum stays true to form for those who do know who he really is. The pattern is the same as when he supported Spector and all his other huge blunders....it's all about the advancement of his political career....and frankly he wins either way for that...thus in his mind he will have succeded...at the cost to our country of which will never take first place over his own personal agendas.
Newt still does have a chance and I'm banking on his rising yet further as Santorum fades....and if need be ,yes, go to a broke.conv.!
;)
I'll say it again, I'm happy with either guy, but the capacity of some to delude themselves about who they see as a political opponent is seemingly bottomless.
Santorum is as bad as Romney who is almost as bad as Obama - riiight.
Your anti Santorum post today only helps mitt.
It doesn’t help your newt.
Think before you post. I cannot believe such a headline is on FR today. Sickening.
I think they think they’ll get a special seat in Heaven for their vote no matter how much it destroys this country (Maybe they think it’s a plus if they can help bring on the end times faster?). But I’m not sure they won’t be asked to explain at the pearly gates why they didn’t vote for the pro-life man who was already higher in the polls instead of splitting the vote and helping “multiple choice” Mitt institute national Romneycare and free abortions for all, once the courts say it’s required and he throws up his hands and says “oops.”
This Ohioan voted Gingrich.

So did this Ohioan ~
Sad but true. He’s been the beneficiary of Romney’s vicious attacks ads against Gingrich in both Iowa and Florida. But for his ego, he should have packed it in after Florida, but he cleverly went to states ignored by his rivals and made himself look like a winner and the GOP-E was only too happy to make him the anti-Romney to again stop Gingrich.
This entire primary has been as much about stopping Gingrich as it’s been about promoting Romney.
Only Gingrich can beat both Romney and obama in a head’s up race but the establishment can’t risk THAT, and I give you their trumped up media polls as proof.
As with Sarah Palin, all the polls show Gingrich with the highest negatives of all the candidates, yet who’s the one the media are still trashing with a new HBO movie? Sarah Palin.
This Ohioan voted Gingrich.
I suspect Romney will win Ohio.
If he does, your vote helped him.
Three Ohio votes for Newt from this household including my oldest’s first ever ballot!
