He has lost my vote - voted independent in the last election & will not cast one for him in any forthcoming elections, either. We need new blood in the House leadership ..... up to and including Mr. B.
I do, as expected, have the answer.
First, YOU...as well as AB, are absolutely correct. It’s not so much crickets you hear as the ringing of hands.
I include myself in that category handily and no, I’m not proud of it.
People, God made some folks leaders and this was for a reason. Cause leaders LEAD!
They inspire people, they aptly vocalize the needs, they have courage to propose solutions.
We, the humble, the Tea Party, the people who carry this country on our backs, we’re like those folks in the desert. We wander aimlessly, latching on to a Michelle....on to a Perry, move on to Newt.
WE NEED A LEADER!
And, with all due respect and love, it ain’t AB. It ain’t going hot, it ain’t Pat Fish.
It SHOULD be, ah, here’s the rub, our elected guys, who got appointed to be leaders. Well it’s been said before but let me say it again....instead of dynamic leaders taking us in the right direction, courageously fighting back against the abuse, we have, instead, an elite political class that is entirely too happy with their perks.
Seriously, a Rush Limbaugh, for example, WOULD be a perfect leader. Glen Beck could be and almost was but he suffered exile and maybe got a little off track himself. Mark Levin.
Perhaps an Alan West. For sure Sarah Palin could have been, and still could be our leader, but for now it’s a no go for them.
So we meander and it’s going to take time to rid the political class of those Blue Blood leeches. We’ll do it, eventually. Olympia Snowe bows out this week, Mike Castle is long gone.
Although I feel I have a sense of the problem, I have no answers. Well save having a Sarah Palin step up but that’s not happening.
Until then I am as demoralized at how we are all being fooled.
I truly believe either a leader will come out of the woodwork and accept that mantle, or the current crop of political elites will make some big, big, big mistake and the sun will shine again.
We know they can kill border guards, sue sovereign states, appoint anybody during congressional “recesses” that aren’t recesses. They can attack our folk heroes and force them to apologize, they can take a silly story about a woman screwing her nights away with a need for taxpayer paid birth control for same, and make it into a PR winner.
I dunno people, we really might have to accept defeat.
Fishtalk, I’m not sure exactly why Rush apologized. I assume he was apologizing for using certain words (slut, etc.) against an individual. His points were on the broader (no pun intended) issues of this woman’s testimony, of Congress, of obama, of the latest healthcare mandate. His comments were to anyone who thinks BC (or anything) should be mandated by govt as a new standard for all companies/insurance plans, across the board.
Don’t know enough about libel/slander and whether his use of these words could be considered suitworthy. It was probably best that he apologize to the individual for his words, but he also explained that he stood behind his comments about the absurdity of what just transpired in the hearing.
Rush is, and always will be, a great man in my book.
First of all, I think is a sign of the awful, desperate times we are living in that here in America we would even consider that Breitbart would have been assassinated by his political enemies. Secondly, that is the first thought that occurred to me when I heard he died suddenly at such a young age and I am keeping that possibility open in my own mind - I put NOTHING past Obama & his thugs - they are about keeping power at all costs. Number three - here is a link to a Hot Air story & a video by Breitbart’s good friend Bill Whittle that sheds some light on the health issue - it was not a minor issue.
Bill Whittle on Breitbart’s Work Ethic & Health Troubles
I won’t dispute that Breitbart’s health was bad. I would note though that operatives of the Russian three-letter org I referenced in an earlier post were infamous for using to their own advantage “found objects” such as the general bad health of a would-be victim to make their attacks (same with smears, forgeries too) look all the more legitimate.
There are substances that can work more effectvely on a more susceptible victim. Not everyone is allergic to everything, though if you are allergic to peanuts and you eat a...
For all we know, this wasn’t even the first attempt on Brietbart, just the one that worked.
Not sayin’, just sayin.’
The BC etc mandates in 0bastard care are not “absurd”. That’s one of the problems. It is totalitarianism, which is way beyond “absurd”.
Calling it “absurd” is a way to lighten it up, take the sting of harsh reality away. We are in the midst of a revolution and it is not “absurd”. When you’re on the edge of a precipice being pushed over, it is not “absurd”.
Eric Cantor was a big, big disappointment, up to and including the time he endorsed Mitt Romney.
First, Gregory had gotten his WH marching orders to make this a Rush Limbaugh show. Newt sure knew it and I know Cantor did too. Cantor might have stumbled all over his own tongue but he wasn’t born last night.
So Gregory asks him why Mittens hasn’t publicly lambasted Rush Limbaugh as we all know who were born with a brain that the Dems want to ride this pony, up to and including making the primary candidates have to be publicly humiliated by jumping on Rush Limbaugh.
Cantor could have said....just throwing it out there...”When Obama condemns Bill Maher for calling Sarah Palin a (insert derogatory term for woman here), then I shall call for Mittens to condemn Rush Limbaugh. Until then those folks are media pundits and entertainers and it’s not on political candidates to censor them or do anything of the sort.”
WHY?
Why can’t they just say this?
Sandra Flukes professional background in domestic violence and human trafficking began with Sanctuary for Families in New York City. There, she launched the agencys pilot Program Evaluation Initiative. While at Sanctuary, she co-founded the New York Statewide Coalition for Fair Access to Family Court, which after a twenty-year stalemate, successfully advocated for legislation granting access to civil orders of protection for unmarried victims of domestic violence, including LGBTQ victims and teens. Sandra was also a member of the Manhattan Borough Presidents Taskforce on Domestic Violence and numerous other New York City and New York State coalitions that successfully advocated for policy improvements impacting victims of domestic violence.
As the 2010 recipient of the Women Lawyers Association of Los Angeles Fran Kandel Public Interest Grant, she researched, wrote, and produced an instructional film on how to apply for a domestic violence restraining order in pro per. She has also interned with the Coalition to Abolish Slavery & Trafficking; Polaris Project; Neighborhood Legal Services of Los Angeles County; Break the Cycle; the Domestic Violence Legal Empowerment and Appeals Project; NOW Legal Defense and Education Fund; Crime Victim and Sexual Assault Services; and the Human Services Coalition of Tompkins County.
Through Georgetowns clinic programs, Sandra has proposed legislation based on fact-finding in Kenya regarding child trafficking for domestic work, and has represented victims of domestic violence in protection order cases. Sandra is the Development Editor of the Journal of Gender and the Law, and served as the President of Law Students for Reproductive Justice, and the Vice President of the Womens Legal Alliance. In her first year, she also co-founded a campus committee addressing human trafficking. Cornell University awarded her a B. S. in Policy Analysis & Management, as well as Feminist, Gender, & Sexuality Studies in 2003.
And I hear 'ya .... loud & clear.
Some other wise one on this thread suggested Rush was just doing what Rush had to do.
Which is fine. I posited that he’d been urged to do so by the establishment GOP but I also said I’m right about as often as Dick Morris.
Whatever the case, I’m with you. I think Rush Limbaugh is a smart and great man and I think he will handily survive this.
Those sponsors dropping him all brave like are being pressured by other forces. Rush ain’t going nowhere.
I really and truly believe if the libs/establishment ever forced Rush off the air, we....the boobs who carry this country on our backs, would riot.
I believe this.
I am weary of the subject and still surprised that we continue to fall for these diversions with such passion.
Please....take Rush comments to any one of the fifty Rush threads.
Thanks.
If that is what is on the Sunday Morning talk shows, it should be fair game here. Believe it or not some of us dont follow every other thread at FR & some Sunday mornings for a recap HERE because there is not a lot of name-calling & irrational comments. So we relish discussions. I do understand it can get repetitive and annoying for those who are immersed daily in all the topics
Carbonite? Well, I love the Mac & the Time Machine. I have had over the years to reformat the hard drive & hooking up with the time machine restored EVERYTHING.. not just data. Programs, cookies, etc.
Hope Rush will NOT take back the sponsors that baled. I think he has won the battle overall
Our Mission, should we chose to accept it, is to DEFEAT OBAMA IN NOVEMBER. We must do what it takes.
thanks for the thread Alas Babylon! Thanks for the essay Bray & Hi there girlfriend to Miss Altura! I always enjoy reading people's comments. Go minds and rational thinking reflected in thought provoking posts for the most part.
Not sure what you are referring to, little jeremiah. I used the word absurd as to what transpired in those hearings. Here’s what Rush said about that occurrence:
“I think it is absolutely absurd that during these very serious political times, we are discussing personal sexual recreational activities before members of Congress. “
I was agreeing with him. Beyond that, you and I don’t disagree on how dangerous all this is. We are headed over the precipice with the healthcare law, whether we are being pushed or just keep walking on our own.
These castrated wimps are too cowardly to speak boldly and passionately for our side. Disgusting. Obama is very lucky to have such small and inconsequential men as opponents. There I said it and I mean it.
Thank you for posting that, Miss Magnolia. I’ve seen her bio, but it’s always good to repost for others who have not.
Like I said, I don’t know about the suitworthiness. I’m sure Rush has been advised on this issue by now.
That’s exactly what I was thinking as I watched.
So many of these guys seem not even prepared for the argument. Don’t know what the issues are, don’t have any ammunition, essentially show up prepared to backpeddle and grovel all the way through.
Boehner and Cantor are among the worst for this. Both men are unintelligent but Cantor in particular still seems to think that the way to score points with the likes of Gregory is to bow down and kiss his ass and more.
None of this is new. The media is aligned against us and the Republican leadership is terrified of them. The federal government is approaching the point at which it can reach into each of our lives, tell us what we can and can’t do, can and can’t own, can and can’t think or say.
The question to me seems to have come down to planning what we can yet accomplish and defend for ourselves in our households, our families, neighborhoods, communities.
The future doesn’t look good.
Exactly - ignore the professional activist Fluke and stay on message.
The left is constantly throwing up distractions like Fluke - don’t help them do their work!
I have been on Twitter for a long time. I routinely bring this stuff up and am in constant warfare with Eric Boehlert and others. (I will say that Jake Tapper of ABC blocked me for criticizing him.)
I am not defending Rush because he is so consumed with his own ego that he caused harm to a very real religious freedom issue, and people who continue this are simply falling into the same trap.
Ms. Fluke is a leftist activist and probably a Marxist who by her own statements enrolled in Georgetown in order to go to war with the Catholic Church.
For non-Catholics, I am sure these seems a bewildering religious fight, but it is a very real concern to me and you and other practicing Catholics. Rush stupidly fell into the trap and he is going to be hung around our necks for the rest of the election.
Our target is not Carbonite, or Ms. Fluke, or anyone else except OBAMA. Focus, people! Rush can take care of himself. If you get out there acting like his attacks on Ms. Fluke were acceptable, you play into the left’s narrative that the GOP is full of woman-haters who want to police people’s bedrooms.
This is the same damn thing they did with Clinton. They turned the narrative to “it’s all about sex.” And we see how well THAT worked for us.
Smarten up! Attack Obama on religious freedom, the economy, joblessness, foreign policy, his increase to the troops on their healthcare, his contempt for the Constitution. There is PLENTY to go after.
Do NOT let this degenerate into a birth control argument! That is completely stupid!
Had to wait 30 minutes on hold to cancel Carbonite service. Lady at the other end sounded very tired and said “ you too huh?”.
Hope every Rush listener does the same.
Rush has great influence and uses it well for the most part.
The people annoyed at Rush for not endorsing really want him to endorse THEIR candidate. If he endorsed Newt at this point, it would not be a good move.
It doesn’t look like Newt is going to win and then where would he be in the general if Santorum is the candidate.
He’s ragged on Mitt as much as we could possibly expect. Mitt may be the candidate. Hate it, but there it is.
As I told Bray, Rush is playing the long game.
We desperately need to get rid of Obama and whoever we end up with will be a thousand times better than Obama and I even include the ugly little gnome. Well, the gnome might only be 100 times better.
I’m with Rush on this and I think when the dust settles everyone will be.
