Public Policy Polling is polling 3 Republican Primary states with weekend: Tennessee, Georgia, and Ohio. (I know, it's a Democratic firm, but I doubt that bias expresses itself when it's a Republican v. Republican race.) According to the tweets, Newt is not doing great in Ohio, polling at around 15%. However:
1) Newt's moving up to challenge Santorum in Tennessee:
"Surprise of the day- Tennessee looking much more competitive. Santorum still up but Mitt and Newt within about 5-7 pts"
2) PPP confirms Newt's big lead in Georgia, and also finds that Santorum is fading to 3rd place in that State:
"Newt up big in Georgia. Kinda wish we'd polled Oklahoma instead. Romney with a healthy lead for 2nd over Santorum so far"
So this news - plus the latest Gallup national poll which places Newt within 5 of Santorum - appears to confirm the trend of Newt rising, and Santorum fading. Let's do all we can to accelerate this trend, so that Newt, and not Romney, is the ultimate beneficiary.

Those are UNBOUND delegates. The state party can instruct them to vote for another candidate...and they can choose to vote for any7 candidate they wish on the convention floor.
You stated we should only consider solid delegates, so yes, you are throwing out 85 percent of his delegates.
It’s a bit self-serving, don’t you think? The Actual delegate count is much more telling.

It seems from the responses you got, you have yourself stepped in some “slick”.
** President Newt Gingrich-”Our beloved republic deserves nothing less.”
Do we then have "Sarah" do what she did to Bachmann and declare the obvious and ask him to exit? One can hope.....
Wow, you still don’t get it.
The solid delegates ARE THE ACTUAL DELEGATE COUNT right now.
Soft delegates are UNBOUND. They can decide who they want to vote for when they get to the County, District and State Conventions. THEY can decide whether or not to let the presidential preference vote determine who they cast THEIR delegate vote for. They can vote for any of the candidates!
As I said before, Santorum may end up getting all of the soft delegates converted to solid, pledged delegates. But it hasn’t happened yet...........
You're not talking about Dede Scozzafava, are you? ;-)
The actual delegate count is the bound + unbound delegates. Those are the delegates that have been earned through the primaries.
I”m aware that WY et al haven’t actually awarded them yet, but they are all we have to go on at this point in time to gage the level of support between all the candidates.
The reason they are unbound is to prevent what happened in MI, FL etc - the halving of their state delegates.
Fireworks might be difficult, because its harder for Newt for go on the offensive without a liberal media foil, and because of Huckleberry's sanctimonious "be nice" conditions to all candidates. However, whenever Newt can display his superior command of the issues, it boosts him with the voters. T-67 minutes until the showtime. If no one else posts a thread, I will.
Am I supposed to be happy that Romney is rising?
See ya their.
The good news is only Politico Junkies will follow it with it's odd time.
The even better news is it gets talked about Sunday and more so Monday on Conservative Talk Shows which might benefit the Newtster.

More information on the Huckleberry forum: According to this Politico article, it’s already been taped, and Paul didn’t participate:

And my guess is that, like the other forums, there’s no candidate interaction, so it’s really 3 back-to-back interviews. Otherwise, we’d already be hearing leaks of the exchanges between the candidates.
for me it is Newt or noone. I have voted for rinos in the past and refuse to ever do it again..no more caving to the establishment or some watered down republican that takes it for the team

A post so nice, you said it thrice! :-)
That seems to be the case, isn’t it?
I won't vote for either RS or MR...for me it is Newt or else.
LOL and sorry:) maybe I can vote for Newt thrice?
