Have you ever wondered if the government or more specifically, the Department of Homeland Security is monitoring your Twitter or Facebook posts? If the answer's "yes," give yourself a pat on the back because you're right and not simply paranoid. There's even a list of keywords for which subcontractors hired by the DHS check social networks. (Snip) Technically this monitoring is not done by the DHS, but subcontractors who are specifically hired to "monitor social networksuse to generate real-time IOI reports," of course. Internal policies demand that those reports are stripped of most personally identifiable information (PII), though

At first when it was down yesterday I thought maybe Hussein’s goons had made their move.

Am I the only one who’s amazed that our government is so lazy, they have to hire others to spy on us?
“Blessent mon cur d’une langeur monotone”
Come and get me, coppers!
“Retinal Fetish”...hmmmm

Private contractors have performance standards built into their contracts. Actual government employees however....
Oh, for Pete’s sake! These agents have to be bored to tears with some of this stupidity!
BLIZZARD - the gaming company that makes Warcraft, Starcraft, and should be rolling out Diablo III sometime this century.
DHS — the abbreviation for the Department of Human Services, which nearly every state in the union has.
FLU — I thought I had it until I was diagnosed with a sinus infection yesterday.
TARGET — a store that has lousy checkouts but can have good sales from time to time.
SHOOTING — my daughter is a photographer. And she doesn’t have an AGENT.
They are going to be very busy if they follow all the folks who might mention on Facebook that they think they have the flu. This is so dumb it reminds me of P.J. O’Rourke’s comment about government placing a camera in every room in every home. He said half of them wouldn’t be working.
That’s the point I was making above....it would be thoroughly possible to have a conversation about World of Warcraft that included multiple of those terms, but was 100% about the game and completely unthreatening.
Blizzard, both the company that makes the game and a Frost mage spell. Assassination, a rogue spec emphasizing a two dagger fighting style and quick transitions between fights. Shooting being the primary means for a hunter to attack their target.
It’s ridiculous.
