Weve been reading for weeks about Mitt Romneys demise as a presidential candidate.
For a candidate whos been declared dead more often than Mark Twain, hes showing surprising life.
In his victory speech in suburban Detroit, the Michigan native called his twin victories a giant step toward a brighter future.
Here are five reasons why the former Massachusetts governors wins in Michigan and Arizona are significant:
1. Considering how many mistakes Romney has made, he still won.
It was a rough week with a bushel of bad press. Remember the trees being the right size. And the multiple Cadillacs in the family garage. He still won.
2. He is resilient.
Romney dug himself a hole in Michigan. He was trailing in the polls. And he came from behind. If hes going to beat President Obama, hell need to follow that same path.
3. His negative ads have been effective.
He outspent rival Rick Santorum and buried him with a barrage of negative ads. Santorum damaged himself with a weak debate performance in Arizona and a couple of campaign-trail gaffes. But Romney proved once again that he can shape public images of his rivals through skillful attack ads. Barack Obama: beware.

He will never go after Obama like he has the Republican candidates. I bet he calls him a decent man and shares a beer with him.
Michigan Republican Delegate count Santorum 13 - Romney 15 - 2 available - http://www.thegreenpapers.com/P12/MI-R
I didn’t read 4 and 5 was either one that he gives a good speech? Because he does. Santorum sadly does not. Newt is pretty good but he comes and goes. Ron Paul speaks with the conviction of a zealot but ....
Romney will become a scared dog against Obama. The tactics he is using will not work against someone who has 5x the money and a sleze machine that makes Romney’s look like amateur hour.
Yep, we lose again...there’s not much difference between the two.............sigh
Mark Twain was only declared dead once, IIRC.
Mitt is not my fav, but McCain was a horrible candidate. He looked terribly old in 2000: At least Mitt is telegenic.
Yep, they’ll destroy him as a cult polygamist incarcerator and for his record of saying things about Corporations being people, when they are the hallmark of image of conformity business.
And, unlike McCain, when Mitt insults the base, it's not intentional; it's by accident.
well, I guess there’s nothing like having a “pretty president”...huh?
Thanks for mentioning Obama’s money. The linked article praises Mitt’s allegedly skillful ads but all he did (to Gingrich and now to Santorum) was bury them under a money advantage.
If he’s the nominee he’ll find out what being buried feels like.
Oh, yeah, Barky and the LSM are just shaking in their boots, lol.
This is like watching people shoot kittens in a barrel.
And he smiles so sweetly when he insults...we just misunderstand.
It's worse.
“He will never go after Obama like he has the Republican candidates. I bet he calls him a decent man and shares a beer with him.”
You betcha - Juan McCain all over again. And Santorum won’t have the cajones (or the poise) to pull it off either. This is just sickening.
Newt is the ONLY one who can face off utterly, fearlessly and effectively against the SOB in Chief. It kills me how smug (and WRONG!) all the GOP elites and “conservative” pundits are about Romney and his supposed electability. When he loses to BHO, they’ll be clueless but have all kinds of excuses why.
For all those that so intently contributed to the Circular Firing Squad here you are now free to have your own circle jerk, you should take deep pride in you roll in helpking kill the Republic, you get to live in it.
Me, I am old, to old to care anymore.
“He looked terribly old in 2000: At least Mitt is telegenic.”
And it’s that kind of deep thinking that reflects all the voters who’re saddling us with BHO Lite - Mittens Obomney.
