Reporting from Kalamazoo, Mich. Rick Santorum sounded increasingly confident in his prospects in Tuesday's Michigan primary, telling hundreds here gathered on the eve of the contest that his hard work criss-crossing the state to greet voters was trumping rival Mitt Romney's financial edge.
"I think we're going to surprise a few people tomorrow night," he told supporters in the gymnasium of Heritage Christian Academy. "And the reason I believe we're going to surprise people is because we've been actually going out there and talking about a positive vision for our country, something that can make people get excited about the future."
Santorum is in a tight contest with Romney for Michigan's 30 delegates, and his supporters on the eve of the primary turned out in large numbers ot see the former Pennsylvania senator speak. Hundreds gathered in the gym, others were placed in a spare classroom where one of the candidate's daughters addressed them and many more were turned away at the door. Scores were walking away from the school when Santorum's car pulled up, and he stopped and greeted them and posed for pictures.

For those interested.
Gonna say a hearty prayer tonight and another tomorrow before I walk down to vote and probably one more in the booth.
I already have. Prayers are welcome. Thanks for voting. If you’ve got any dead relatives, feel free to get them to the polls too. LOL!
My sister heard that Santorum’s campaign mgr or something like that said they’d won MI.
Internal polls?
B O’Reilly and Brit Hume were comparing notes tonight about how stupid Santorum obviously must be to be talking about social issues and conception and stuff when everyone knows the election is all about the economy. Of course they admire his principles blah blah blah, but they don’t get it.
Which tells me Santorum might just be on the right track here.
Do us proud Michigan! I know you’ll be leading from the front, CC!!
Probably.
Be sure to vote early and often.
: ^ )
BTW the santorum sponsored Tony Raines car has had a good clean race tonight and had the fastest lap just a minute ago. He hung in the back for most of the race but appears to be moving toward the front now. In 24th right now.
I predict Santorum will clean Mittens clock in MI and AZ.
The GOP establishment is saddened, deeply saddened.
You know they can’t stand a conservative candidate. Heaven forbid he might actually win the nomination!
Well, thanks for voting Rick in Colorado, goldstategop. Didn't you used to live in California? Or am I confusing you with another FReeper?
If Santorum wins Michigan, The First Words out of Toyko Rove’s mouth will be JEB BUSH.
Wow, the track is ON FIRE!
Montoya hit the jet dryer. That’s a new one.
Raines is in 3rd place under the red flag.
Plenty of states coming up on Super Tuesday and beyond. Yes, sir. WE PRESS ONWARD.
No victory tomorrow will be so one-sided that someone will take all the delegates. Either way, it's a few delegates one way or the other. It keep the fundraising going.
lol, I just noticed that.....3rd place, red flag with 40 laps to go. Is the track okay?
Accepting democrat votes for Santorum in Michigan tomorrow!
GO Santorum!
NO ROMNEY!
NO WAY!
This race may very well be over. That was a hot fire that even melted some of the metal on the dryer. It burned on the track for quite a while.
Now there’s rain in the area.
