Reporting from Kalamazoo, Mich. Rick Santorum sounded increasingly confident in his prospects in Tuesday's Michigan primary, telling hundreds here gathered on the eve of the contest that his hard work criss-crossing the state to greet voters was trumping rival Mitt Romney's financial edge.
"I think we're going to surprise a few people tomorrow night," he told supporters in the gymnasium of Heritage Christian Academy. "And the reason I believe we're going to surprise people is because we've been actually going out there and talking about a positive vision for our country, something that can make people get excited about the future."
Santorum is in a tight contest with Romney for Michigan's 30 delegates, and his supporters on the eve of the primary turned out in large numbers ot see the former Pennsylvania senator speak. Hundreds gathered in the gym, others were placed in a spare classroom where one of the candidate's daughters addressed them and many more were turned away at the door. Scores were walking away from the school when Santorum's car pulled up, and he stopped and greeted them and posed for pictures.

That’s quite a groove in the track. Will they call it?
If they don’t call it, its going to be a while before they get back to racing. I’m guessing at least an hour.
“Noting that his grandfather and father immigrated to the U.S....”
Uh-oh....that’s not going to sit well with the “birther” crowd.
New PPP polls out. All good for Rick
It’s time for the Newt Gingrich supporters with their “ Anyone but Romney we will rally around rhetoric “ to either put up or shut up, or put actual actions behind their words.. other wise it’s all empty rhetoric...
At least.

Shows what a nice guy Rick Santorum is.
Sean smacked down Morris tonight, who dissed Santorum on his social issues again.
Santorum was pigeon holed by the press on the social issue stuff. All of the pundits who are waxing on about that are behind and ignorant. He’s moved on and so should they.
I broke my Faux fast and watched it tonight.
Mittens talked about how he was down by 15 and is recovered from a HUGE deficit and is now neck with Rick. Is this his explanation/prep for the upcoming epic fail tomorrow night?
Rick seemed really upbeat. Loved the ad about asking Dems to cross over and his response to Romney’s feigned offense.
Beautiful!
I swore I saw a depression in that track, but I’m not seeing one now. Asphalt looking okay now. Tide getting lots of PR. Crowd doing the wave. What a crazy race.
THANK YOU ONYXIE! MM
Not many sports where you see this much age range. Some of these guys are 18 years old and some of them are in their 50s and everything in between.
Going to be absolutely essential to get a high voter turnout tomorrow to counter the 3 to 1 absentees for Mittens...
According to RINO Romney fan Michael Medved, the party may have to draft a third candidate. Mittens is not exactly firing up the base!
That is SUCH good news, Kenny. But I doubt the campaign would release such info, which could serve to depress vote from those who think they don’t need to bother voting if Santorum has already won.
Heavenly Father,
We thank you for the privilege to vote. It seems we are in a battle of good and evil. We have a man who has worked his entire career fighting against the evils of abortion, gay marriage and other things that go against Your will. Give him the wisdom, knowledge, understanding, and discernment to stand against those who oppose Your will..
Lord, we humbly ask that you overwhelm Michigan with people voting for Rick. Let your people in Michigan rise up and bring their conservative family and friends to vote, so that the turn out for Rick is overwhelming. May even unbelievers see that Rick is a good man, a man of his word and a man who stands up for what is right and will fight for the little guy. We pray for a solid win for Rick in Michigan and favor for Ricks in Arizona.
Help Rick take time to spend with You, his shelter in this storm. You said the world would hate us because they hated You first, and we find that to be true. Give him Your words to speak against those who wish to harm him politically.
May we, your children, pray and fast, for the coming election. It seems so much is at stake, but we know You are in control. We also know the plans You have for us are plans to prosper us and not to harm us, plans to give us hope and a future. Thank you for that promise.
In Your Sons’ Name we pray.
Amen
