See post 90. Links to a thread from last Friday. I was pretty much alone in calling for a zot on Apollo. It had nothing to do with his being for/against Newt/Santorum.
He was making anti Christian comments.
He didn’t get the zot then. But trolls ALWAYS out themselves.
Well, I looked at your post 90, and I don’t see an anti-Christian comment.
To me, the poster thought that Rick was using religious issues to cover up a lack of substance.
Well, so what then?
He didn’t say Christ was a demon, did he?
Maybe you like Rick and he doesn’t. So?
Sounds like you jumped to a conclusion that wasn’t there. I try to give folks the benefit of the doubt. I have been on my fair share of helping folks ride the lightning when they deserve to. I realize that we are in the midst of a crazy political season, and everyone is trying to support their primary candidate.
But if that is all you have, that isn’t much. And certainly not “anti-Christian”.
I’m alive! I’m alive! I’m surprised that I am.
I appreciate you guys who stuck up for me in this thread. I am actually on a probationary period, so the Santorum guys are going to have their bubbles burst by me in a kinder, gentler, more sensitive way.
But to answer the question about where I stand, (since apparently one cannot be taken at what one clearly writes around here) I did not attack faith. I attacked Santorum. I have been saying for quite awhile around here that Santorum uses the religion and social issues to cover up his record and platform. I’ve seen this opinion by others as well, totally independent of my own. It is not an attack on faith. It is purely an attack on a candidate.
And as for who I support, it is Newt Gingrich totally. I was Pro-Cain initially, but after going through a depression when Cain dropped (probably similar to the depression people went through when Palin decided not to run) I switched over to Perry, since I had originally supported him before Cain, and then after a second depression, I switched over to Newt when I took a serious look at his history and realized I had been quite wrong to condemn him and that the world wasn’t ending. If this happens a third time, I’m becoming a sequestered monk and will never deal with politics again.
Newt Gingrich has his flaws, but he definitely has always been one of us. I wrote an article on American Thinker defending Newt’s moon colony idea back when he was getting bashed for it, which should establish my non-troll Bona fides. (My name is Ricardo Galvan Estrada, and it is listed as such on American Thinker.) I don’t think a regular troll would go to the point of defending Newt with a researched article.
As regards to Christianity, I lean Pentecostal. Which means I am on again off again on spiritual gifts. On various forums, though using different names, I have been debating folks on creation vs evolition (I am a creationist) for a number of years, as well as religious debates with Catholics, Mormons, atheists, Muslims (a muslim once told me that in the end days, he would cut off my head) and many others on many other issues. That doesn’t make me a “good” or “holy” or “super religious” person, but it does make me the farthest thing from an atheist or a heathen. If I condemn Santorum, it has nothing to do with religion. It has everything to do with the actual candidate.
And FYI, this whole thread is an exercise in overreaction and outright silliness. So much ado over a minor post! Even “hellspawn” and declarations of glee. You would have to spin very hard to translate my comment into an attack on “faith.” And if the mods investigate some of the other posters around here, they would realize that that kind of an attack happens often.
Anyway, alls well that ends well. Thanks again to the folks who backed me up! I suppose my background check came out okay, so you can take your gloved hand out of my butt looking for weapons or hidden drug stashes please!
And as for my history on Free Republic, I saw a post mentioning a second account? I have read Free Republic for years, but I shy away from large forums since it means getting attacked twenty times in a single minute, which I had found to be overwhelming in the past. I joined FR as a member since I was excited over Cain.
