Detroit 300 Taking a Stand after Nine-Month-Old Murdered

DETROIT (WJBK) -- "These babies have been accosted and victimized on our watch, so as men it's demanded upon us to stand up," said Raphael Johnson, president of Detroit 300.

An impassioned plea from the men of the Detroit 300 imploring the men of Detroit to take action in the wake of so many children being murdered.

"Where are the uncles, the cousins, the fathers, the brothers of these victims, these babies? Where are you at and what are you doing? Why [are] you not out marching in the street?" Johnson said. "If it applies to you, you need to get off the couch. If it applies to you, you need to put that weed down and stop being so high. If it applies to you, you need to put the beer down, the liquor and the alcohol, and take your rightful place in our community."

This as the family of nine-month-old Delric Miller works on his obituary and designs t-shirts to remember the little boy killed as he slept at his home on Greenview on Detroit's west side Monday morning. Before dawn, a gunman opened fire. Nearly 40 bullets pierced the walls. One of them hit little Delric.

"I wanted to do something to help the family in this hard time right now," said Clayton Carter with Can You Picture This?

So, he is selling t-shirts to help pay for the funeral. Everyone wants to help.

Detroit Police are working with state and federal agencies to catch the killer, some coward from some gang, the very people the men of the Detroit 300 say they're coming after.

"We don't need a search warrant. We don't need any probable cause. All we need is for you to commit a felony and we [are] coming to get you period," said Johnson.

The beauty of the Detroit 300, they say, is that they understand the code on the streets. They understand that people don't want to snitch to police, but they want people to talk to them. There's a hotline. It's 313-826-8662.

The Detroit 300 also says they're going to be deploying hundreds of men to area hot spots once a week and they're coming after the folks who are on the wrong side of the law.

If you would like to join the Detroit 300, call 313-826-2040 or visit www.TheDetroit300.org.

I agree, everyone seems to be bashing these guys, it takes courage to stand up like they are. I think some of the black community have had enough. This is encouraging to see.

This is the kind of attitude we need to take back our streets, let the animals know we won’t tolerate their criminal behavior anymore. Prayers up for these folks.

Underlying the cultural problem is a government problem.

I don't buy that anymore. At some point, everyone has to take responsibility for their own circumstances, and you either make it better, or you make it worse. Everything else is just excuses. Normal, intelligent, responsible adults don't let things like this get out of hand for generations, regardless of anything else. Even the men, don't act like men. That's about as far as I'm willing to go on a public board without risking the possibility of saying something that might get me banned.

I'm telling you, I have had it with this crap.

I’m with you. I’m for the Detroit 300. I’m for their having CCW’s. I’m not for vigilante justice but if somebody goes rogue, finds and kills the guy who shot that 9 month-old baby, I will not bat an eye nor will I shed a tear.

They are the ones doing the shooting.Or maybe they are in jail for doing the shootings that happened ten or 20 years ago.

These kids learned from the older generation. They are the new generation of killers. It has been passed on from Father to son.

How do you propose making the irresponsible take responsibility? Irresponsible parents produce irresponsible kids. The only way to break the cycle is to stop making it feasible for the irresponsible to have children.

Proposing and implementing a solution is no different in principle than the system that is already in place. Neither will work and unless they are willing to defer to a common culture, which they are not, then nothing is ever going to change. Diversity doesn’t strengthen a population, it divides. That was the point of Babel. I’m to the point now where I don’t really care what culture dominates America. Just pick one and be done with it...

It's to the point where this nonsense is so tiring, it's not even worth the effort to listen anymore, let alone care...

That's where I am now.

Yeah yeah. They aren’t going to stand for this. Heard it before.
If talking got it done, Detroit would be a paradise.

Yeah but he has found a way to raise money for a Rolex and a Mercedes with this 300 scam. He’s gone legit. Keep the murder rate up and he’ll have a Bentley.

If you aren’t part of the solution, there’s good money to be made prolonging the problem.

The 9 month old was killed because a woman couldn't get a seat at a baby shower. The shooting up of the home was in retaliation of that 'dis'.

What I'm proposing is this: that the middle class STOPS making it feasible for the underclass to behave irresponsibly. I'm addressing the middle class, and the need for a change to ITS culture of tolerating bad behavior from the underclass.

I'm not asking for the underclass's willing acceptance of change. I don't care if they like it or not.

“These babies have been accosted and victimized on our watch”

Silly me - when a baby is shot and dies, I was unaware it was a case of “These babies have been accosted and victimized on our watch.

Dead, even murdered, but not accosted.

Unless they have the courage to admit that this is a cultural problem, rather than a legal problem, nothing is going to change.

You are exactly right. It is the culture of a majority of blacks today, which is even glorified in rap music and hollywood. The democrat party is directly responsible for current black culture, and ultimately was done for the sake of keeping blacks on the democrat plantation. Also, when you watch any reality crime show in big cities, every black person the authorities ever come into contact with, is already in the system starting around 15 years old. It seems to me that the government authorities only ever deal with the clean up after the predictable and distressing consequences of a culture with no morals or ethics, and never even mention the root cause behind the murder, drugs, and mayhem. The culture that is breeding and indoctrinating their children to be mindless, soulless, indifferent violent animals, is never, ever addressed.

The black youth of today are literally being sacrificed on the alter of the democrat party election machine. Welfare and other free entitlements is the ball and chain that keep them from escaping.

Anyone ever take a closer look at the cities with black mayors and/or leaders? These cities all seem to just deteriorate ...
Chocolate cities.
A term made popular back in the late 60s and 70s when blacks were blaming their demise on white mayors/city councils, white schools/teachers, white cops, etc.
Told us how great it was going to be when all those positions of power and authority were filled by blacks.
Well, here we are 45 years later and all one needs to do is look at "black america" to see who was right.
Total destruction ... physically, spiritually and culturally.
