If we are to accept this, why haven’t we been more forceful with Syria?
I agree with Santorum on this, but many conservatives seem opposed to stopping the mindless bloodshed in Homs.
If we don't stop the mindless bloodshed then there certainly be more of it.
If we do, and the Syria government falls, there is a good chance they will be replaced by Muslim fundamentalists who will go on a vengeful killing spree of their own. Among the dead will be Syria's Christians.
Between Iraq and a hard place.
“If we are to accept this, why havent we been more forceful with Syria?”
One reason not to be involved there is that the opposition is an Taliban-type bunch, and that will cause the 2.3 million Christians there to have to run for their lives (just as they’re doing in Egypt).
