A superPAC that supports Rick Santorum has released a new television ad in Ohio that seeks to tie both Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich to President Barack Obama.

ABC News was given a sneak peak at the ad, titled “Obama.” It will run in Ohio along with another Romney attack ad already running in Michigan called “Vital Decisions.” The Ohio buy is $257,000 and was announced Friday morning.

The narrator says over photos of Romney, Gingrich and Obama: “How can Mitt Romney or Newt Gingrich beat Barack Obama when on the vital decisions they’re not much different? Like Obama, Gingrich supported individual health insurance mandates and lobbied for Freddie Mac. Mitt created RomneyCare–the blueprint for ObamaCare. And just like Obama, Romney even left Massachusetts 1 billion (dollars) in debt.”

The ad asks “Who can win?” It then touts Santorum’s jobs plan.

...

A Quinnipiac Ohio poll from earlier this month had Santorum leading in the state with 36 percent to Romney with 29 percent and Gingrich with 20 percent.

I thought republicans were not suppose to bash free market, capitalism to make money. Newt did not do anything other than make money; money was not made by lobbying for a certain OUTCOME for his company. I guess as usual it all depends on what team wagon that one wants to be riding in. Rick is shameful for doing this against Newt when he himself said it was nothing wrong with Newt making money for his family. Jerk.

Why go after Gingrich?

Santorum does not appear politically astute here and has clearly misread his "surge".

Well, well, well.
FreddieMac was at the center of the housing bubble, and Gingrich was a lobbyist (not a historian) for this nefarious government supported entity from whom he collected $1.6m. You folks need to stop whining. This is now a 2-man race. Even in his own home state of GA, Gingrich leads Santorum by a mere 5 points. In the major states like OH, FL, MI, Gingrich is in single digits. His role is now relegated to being that of the spoiler who may just give us Romney. So Santorum is compelled to take the battle to the two of them as well.

So the has been 'team' player that save old bjClinton from a legitimate impeachment proceeding is now the 'saviour'. s n i c k e r!!!! By the way Newt's contract with Freddie explicitly stated 'consultant', but apparently 'truth' is NOT a priority in some circles.

Jerk is right especially since Santorum was a PAID lobbyist.
“Santorum set up a company called Excelsior LLC that acted as a mechanism to pay him for consulting fees. He reported being paid $820,000 from the firm on his 2009 tax returns and a half-million dollars from it on his 2010 forms. He has also been paid thousands of dollars by energy, pro-religion and lobbying firms.

The returns also show that Santorum drove an Audi, made in Germany, in 2008 as part of his consulting work.

The IRS reported last year that in 2009, Americans who made $344,000 a year qualified to be in the elite 1 percent echelon, a threshold for which Santorum qualifies easily. The average income among 1-percenters was $960,000.

Christie, notice how nasty Santorum and Romney supporters are. I picture them with one hand on their hip saying “I know you are, but what am I”. GO NEWT!!

Gingrich was not a lobbyist.
FM and FM released their contracts, they prohibited lobbying.
Gingrich Group received $1.5 mil over eight- nine years.
Gingrich personally received $300K over four years.
His roll with FM and FM was exactly as he said.
If Gingrich is showing as badly as you contend, then Santorum has nothing to worry about.

This goofy bastige is just totally clueless. For either Santorum or Gingrich to win, they BOTH need to work together, against the Romney/Paul team, to defeat Romney. Santorum's childish ego just won't let him face this reality.

Gingrich practically handed him Michigan, and he is screwing that up, along with other midwest states that might have followed on those coattails.
