For the most part, Santorum’s big infractions are listed as having taken place around 1994 to 1996. If those infractions are merely indicators of something he still believes today, then I’m hard pressed to support him.

On the other hand, we have a clown whose own party members refused to return him to a position they had the power to return him to. Now he wants the party to support him in his presidential bid.

Yes, I should put the stick down because morons should be able to attack one candidate adnausium, while their own guy carries around enough baggage to keep a 747 from taking off.  Good call.

The members of Congress as a whole vote for the speaker.  A few RINOs as you address them, can't do it on their own.  He pissed off the whole body of majority Republicans to the point, he no longer had support to hold his position.

Compare that to a state where the full body of voters from both parties had a say in it.  If that state's body was made up of a majority of registered Republicans, I think you could make a fairly good comparison.  That is not the case.
