The field is set.
Tony Stewart won the first Duel under caution and Matt Kenseth took the checkered in a caution-free second event to set the lineup for Sunday's Daytona 500.

Who will ride a lucky airstream to Victory Lane on Sunday?
Will the field get Smoke'd again?

Go back to DU !!!
Nice tractor...
Great picture you devil you. You have two great rides there.
We refuse to drive to any track anymore (3 hour traffic jams at PIR & NHMS) so we go the package route which includes a bus ride to the gates and back again. The buses cut thru the Air Force Base near LVMS and have priority so we’ll be back in our room 45 minutes after we leave the track.
This is what they get for moving it from the Washington's Birthday weekend.
I hope they move it back for next year (2/17). If they have it on 2/24 . . . they'll be racing on Purim.
What, you miss me? Hunh...what a pudd.
I think what you meant to say was
“Go back to du du do di, auh I forgot”
Potshots?
In defense of P.B. you DO live in the “Golden Triangle”. We have “hotshots” in Oregon. They’re the firefighters that parachute out of planes to control an early “hot” forest fire. S.T. has “hotshots” in Texas to help those bulls move along. Course there are “hotshots” in S.L.C. and back East there’s movers and shakers who are called “hotshots”.
My brother in law walked over yesterday at 2:30 P.T. to tell me the race had yet to start. What a great way to start the year for NASCAR. Was gonna record the race today but it’s snowing outside which limits activities so I’ll probably watch it - if they can get it in today.
bump for later
What if they can't get the race in at all because of rain? I mean...they have to get everyone to Phoenix in time for the next race.
What happens then?
Tuesday would be the make/break day. If they can’t get the race in today or tomorrow it’ll probably go to a make-up during a scheduled off week during the year.
I’m kinda hoping for a delay today. Snowing heavily in Central Oregon and I keep losing the satellite signal do to snow build-up on my dishes.
Daytona weather forecast 94.3% chance of rain this afternoon. Will I be able to change my drivers a few more times if the race is postponed and will B. France and his merry thugs write a new rule?
Rain tires. Snicker.
Cams near the track show a lot of rain..
Race has been postponed until 7 PM EST.
Thank you Roccus.
My local news weather showed radar in FL - just ugly.
Then she says - not sure here - "Nacsar should or Nascar did canx the whole thing and press on with next race."
I checked Jayski / AP / CNNSI - nada.
For some of us that is good news. I wasn't going to be able to watch it during the daytime. Have to leave work on-time today boss.
Uncharted waters here.
But I’d think they could certainly go thru Tuesday.
The cars that will run at Phoenix have different chassis and engines. They are pretty much complete and sitting in the team shops.
They could eliminate Friday practice and make PIR a 2-day show.
It’s about 450 miles from Daytona back to the shops, and 2100 out to Phoenix. Likely about 50 hours driving time.
Joie Chitwood was on Weather Channel this am.
He said you can’t cancel the Super Bowl.
I’m betting they’ll keep trying at least thru Tuesday.
See my post above I think the logistics work - sort of.
7 Eastern, eh? I guess that was to give A) the rain a chance to exit the area, and B) fans a chance to get off work and get to the track.
An ‘all-under-the-lights’ Daytona 500. Could be worse.
