Sinclair oil

I pumped gas at a Sinclair station in Cleveland when I was a teen. The guy who owned it ran an old 51 Ford flathead stock car, I learned a heckuva lot.

Yes, I think it was him. Could have been the wire.

BTW another thing mrs p6 asked that I couldn’t answer commpetently was that the drivers didn’t seem in a hurry to get out after the crash. She remembers the very little autocrossing I did when I always had an H harness with a D ring quick release.

Wow you can hear the rain in the trackside interviews!

Sometimes after a whopper, you’re stunned or have the wind knocked out, so it takes a while to return to full operation. But if the car’s not on fire, probably best to wait for the emergency crew.

I got really nervous when that car went on it’s nose as the other car wedged under the fuel tank.

This is a pretty cynical comment, but the drivers know the camera is staying on the car probably until they start climbing out. Which means camera time for the sponsor.
So no hurry....

Justin Algaier in the Nationwide race? Yeah he received a major “wedgie”. I met him and his Dad at the IMIS show here in Indy. Nicest folks to talk to.

Looks like even the loquacious Waltrip brothers had to take a break, and we go to replays of the week.

Thanks, we had a lot of fun down there and the 2nd season our pit crew got an award for most improved, and we made a lot of friends. I'm glad I got the html straightened out and asked mods to delete the bunk ones. Here is the jacket the wife got.

Bayne comes across as the guy you’d want your daughter to marry, even before he became a rich guy.

NASCAR yea right.
National Assimilation of Sissy Car Auto Racing.
And the winner of the race will be decided by a liberal panel of geeks who will decide who deserves to win the race.
Why not let Government Motors or Fiat build all the cars the same and let the UAW run the pits. Then wrap all the
drivers in bubble wrap and make a 3 foot comfort zone around the cars. Paint lanes on the track with brake lights and turn signals on the cars. And sense the sport has been
officially feminized, put makeup mirrors on the visors.
It should be NAPCSCAR.

Y’know that wouldn’t surprise me...sadly.

Another thing I am ignorant of is that IIRC it used to be difficult to know if a car was on fire because it burned with an invisible flame. Maybe that’s diffnrentnow.
