Sorry, you and Sam did hijack the thread (the thread is about
Newt, not Palin), and you do sound like old wives.
Nothing personal there at all, I even apologized to old wives....
:-)
How about you and Sam make a thread about Sarah Palin and allow this thread to die the slow death it normally would have?

Your closing comment hits very close to home. Having to travel to my home town (one of the most liberal in the nation) frequently, I know when I am getting close to the city limits because I begin seeing Toyota Prius’s plastered with obama, kerry, global warming etc. bumper stickers.
The reason many conservatives don’t place ideological bumper stickers on their vehicles is that the left has no problem defacing or destroying the property of someone who disagrees with their social agenda. Conservatives wouldn’t consider causing damage to someone’s property displaying their socialist bent.....perhaps it’s out of pity, but I know it’s because conservatives, at least the great majority, are ethical and honest.

I have made similar comments to a close, conservative friend and his response is identical to yours.
Any amoral, disgusting behavior or ideology espoused by the left and advertised by conservatives would be encouraged and enjoyed by the communist left.

First let me say that if you felt attacked in my post, I am sorry, that was not my intention.
I however did not attack you personally. I asked you a couple of questions to point out the hypocrisy of your post. You accused Sarah of ‘cheering from the stands’. She has held a governorship, ran for VP and been attacked by the media for starters. Do you have more skin in the game than that? If you did, we might be discussing your FB post.
Pointing out the truth is not whining. I don’t care if you want to attack me personally. Have at it. It just does nothing for your case.
Have you ever heard of hyperbole? Of course, I don’t expect you to run for President. It was an exaggeration to make a point. The point is, no one knows who you are but you want to criticize Sarah who you think is not doing enough.
Sarah is not above criticism. No one is. And I believe there is some warranted critcism of Sarah Palin. I just don’t think this is it. However, it seems that you would call into question her every action.
I have no wounds. It’s funny how you think you have the power to wound me and tell me what to do. Your ego must be huge.

“It would behoove you to consider discussing the issue that was raised, instead of making personal attacks on other posters referring to them as ‘old wives’, you know, debate the message instead of shooting the messenger?”
Lol! I am sorry but this was just hilarious!!!!

‘will support her when she’s right, and on those occasions she is wrong, I will not hesitate to criticize.
I think this is the most reasonable thing you have said on this forum. It is very logical and balanced. Now I have a question.
What exactly is wrong with this statement that deserves your criticism?
‘Obama apologizes for the inadvertent Koran burning this week; now the U.S. trained and protected Afghan Army can apologize for killing two of our soldiers yesterday’ -Sarah Palin

'Shark, you appear to have what is known as a 'convenient memory' (aka a 'Mafia Memory), and with that in mind, I direct you to posts #4, 6, 9, 12, 16 and 24 for starters, and make note that it was neither Sam nor I who made those posts, but OTHER FReepers who didn't get your memo about "the thread is about Newt, not Palin", and in fact you responded to post #6 (YOUR post #7), and those posts were made long before Sam or myself came along.
Perhaps you might want to distribute a second copy of that memo since it seems not everyone got the message.

First let me say that if you felt attacked in my post, I am sorry, that was not my intention.
Go back and read your post #124 again, it was personal even if you lack the intellect to comprehend that.
I however did not attack you personally.
So you say.
I asked you a couple of questions to point out the hypocrisy of your post. You accused Sarah of cheering from the stands. She has held a governorship, ran for VP and been attacked by the media for starters.
Ahhh, but what is she doing RIGHT NOW, beyond her gig on Fox News? She's not a candidate in the GOP primaries, and Newt Gingrich is.
Do you have more skin in the game than that? If you did, we might be discussing your FB post.
I got all the skin necessary. And there was no hypocrisy, the fact is Sarah is making 'demands' of that yokel in Afghanistan Karzai, and it costs her nothing. Newt addresses the issue, and he's got a whole lot more on the line than does Sarah Palin. If she wants to behave like a candidate, she should have gotten into the game when she had the opportunity, simple as that.
Pointing out the truth is not whining. I dont care if you want to attack me personally. Have at it. It just does nothing for your case.
First of all, you stated no truth, you started with an assumption that Sam Paine and I were 'on the sidelines' and therefore shouldn't be criticizing Sarah Palin. Your comment was nothing more than an opinion, and an ignorant one at that.
Have you ever heard of hyperbole? Of course, I dont expect you to run for President. It was an exaggeration to make a point.
In that case, you need to a.) figure out what the truth is, b.) don't make assumptions and c.) avoid hyperbole.
The point is, no one knows who you are but you want to criticize Sarah who you think is not doing enough.
SO, unless I'm a 'somebody' or 'well known' in the public eye, you're saying I have no business criticizing Sarah Palin? You can shove that elitist nonsense right now, I'm a damn American CITIZEN and I have every right to criticize public figures and/or officials as I see fit.
Sarah is not above criticism. No one is. And I believe there is some warranted critcism of Sarah Palin. I just dont think this is it. However, it seems that you would call into question her every action.
There you go again, making assumptions.
I have no wounds. Its funny how you think you have the power to wound me and tell me what to do. Your ego must be huge.
The sad truth is, most of your wounds appear to be self-inflicted.

One last time.
You
Sarah Palin is sitting in the stand cheering.
Me
What are you doing? Sitting on the sidelines?
Do you HONESTLY think that you have contributed more to the cause of conservatism than Sarah Palin?
I guess the irony eludes you.
You feel you can criticize Palin for speaking out because she doesn’t have as much skin in the game as Newt but I can not criticize you for not having as much skin in the game as Sarah.
To: seekthetruth
Bump for a link to an AWESOME apology in comment #172.

Sarah is also an American citizen and has every right to criticize whomever she like. That’s the whole point.
Your opinion seems to be ‘she isn’t doing as much as Newt so she should shut up’. So to be consistent ‘you aren’t doing as much as Sarah Palin so you should shut up’. See I don’t believe you should shut up. I am just pointing out your hypocrisy.
To: mkjessup; Jeff Head; sam_paine; onyx; christianhomeschoolmommaof3
The earlier posts about Palin, were quick and fairly innocuous. Jeff Head mentioned her in his post, and I mentioned her back (from the posted article) to him. Neither of us made her the center of the thread.
The two of you took it to a whole new level, and yes you did hijack the thread, making it about some old grudge you both hold concerning Sarah Palin.
I really don't care to keep this up, doubt I will respond if you do, but you need to reconsider what you did, and try to keep it a bit lighter if you would. Sarah Palin is hardly the enemy of conservatism, the kind of animosity you hold might be better reserved for some genuine enemy of our way of life.
Fwiw, I think you are being heavily bested by the poster you are so heatedly debating, keeping this thread alive with your posts.

When Obama apologized did he bow for the cameras?
Did he make sure the Muslim world knew we were humbled, beaten and shamed?
And the killers - the one's who took out two soldiers in exchange for a book - did they know - know beyond a shadow of a doubt - that Obama stood with them? Did the killers understand Obama had turned his back on the American people FOR their sake?
Did they feel the joy of American blood spilled once again for their extremist religious beliefs?
Thanks Obama, you screwed us over one more time - and I don't believe the economy is getting better, I don't believe higher gas prices are good and I don't believe anything democrats and their shills in the MSM say...
