Burning a book justifies burning people??
and which side has to apologize on its knees??
world upside down
Fighting a war against enemies who hate us and want to kill us and destroy our liberty, way of life, and our life, and against the population centers that support them justifies winning that war and doing so in a manner that brings about real change and eradicates the threat. It is what we did in World War II, and it worked.
IMHO, we either go in there and win and really defeat them and their will to carry on and make war...or we are dooming ourselves to an endless bloodletting and never having a victory.
They are now killing our people because we were going to burn some of the Korans that the enemy combatants we had captured were using to forment rebeliion and radicalization within the prison.
Burning a book justifies burning a people.
Jeff Head didn’t say that. He said that if we are going to wage war, then let’s damn sure have an unconditional surrender war in the tradition of Eisenhower and MacArthur.
The time for that has come and gone though. This should have been conducted as an all-out reprisal as suggested by Jeff, and the we should have promised to return if they got out of line again.
The strange thing about this whole situation is that the prisoners desecrated the koran by writing in them (they changed the contents, which I believe is forbidden by a muslim). I don’t believe they would be considered holy, because of this. The burning would be just to dispose of the desecrated korans.
