Obama: 'Developing new energy critical' (Once again, Mullah Obama rules out expanded oil drilling)
UPI ^ | 2/23/2012 | staff

U.S. President Obama told an audience in Florida Thursday Republicans are saying "drill, drill, drill," but that's not an energy plan, it's a "bumper sticker."

The president said it was critical to develop diverse energy resources.

He also attacked government subsidies for oil companies.

"Four billion dollars," Obama said. "These are the same oil companies that have been making record profits off the money you spend at the pump. And now they deserve another $4 billion from us?

"It's outrageous. It's inexcusable. And every politician who's been fighting to keep these subsidies in place should explain to the American people why the oil industry needs more of their money. Especially at a time like this."

At the "energy event" at the University of Miami, Obama said: "Right now, we're experiencing yet another painful reminder of why developing new energy is so critical to our future. Just like last year, gas prices are climbing across the country -- except this time, even earlier. And that hurts everyone."

Drilling is a bumper sticker, but a real thinking man’s solution is Solyndra, Chevy Volts, and algae? I’m just a simple country boy, but I’m thinking there is more fuel in the Keystone pipeline and in N Dakota than in algae.

When you pay $80 to fill-up your tank and have to cut out non-necessary trips, you aren’t interested in the boilerplate minutia of tax subsidies.

This strategy of Barry’s is an EPIC FAIL!

God this man is a disaster! Who in the world actually likes him??

Dear leader’s so full of crap, it’s a wonder how his brain is still functioning. I think it takes a lot of ignorance to hold his views, and it takes a special person to be that ignorant and not be ashamed.

Is it more likely that he’s clueless,

or that this policy is intentional to price energy usage out of the range of what most people can afford?

More $ spent at the pump = less $ available for anything else. Great way to keep that economic ‘recovery’ going, O’Algae.

Nancy Pelosi’s brother-in-law is given $737m of taxpayers’ money to build giant solar power plant in middle of the desert

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2043282/Nancy-Pelosis-brother-law-given-loan-bigger-Solyndra-solar-plant.html

The SolarReserve project is backed by an energy investment fund where the Minority Leader’s brother-in-law Ronald Pelosi is second in command.

PCG Clean Energy & Technology Fund (East) LLC is listed as one of the investors in the project that has been given the staggering loan, which even dwarfs that given to failed company Solyndra.

Other investors include one of the major investors in Solyndra, which is run by one of the directors of Solyndra.

Steve Mitchell, who served on the board of directors at the bankrupt energy company, is also managing director of Argonaut Private Equity, which has invested in the latest project.

announcement by Energy Secretary Steven Chu comes just two days after the doomed Solyndra project, which cost the taxpayer $528 million from the same cash pot

Obama is promoting his crony capitalist partner, Chesapeake Energy, on the East Coast.

The idea is to promote natural gas over coal, on the East Coast and promote the sale of coal to China on the West Coast.

Chesapeake Energy has even formed an alliance with the Sierra Club to promote natural gas over coal on the East Coast.

The plan for the NGOs on the West coast are a little different. The Sierra Club is fighting new coal terminals along the west coast, except one gigantic terminal that is planned for Whatcom County, WA. There, they have struck a deal with Goldman Sachs, the owner, to control the environmental assessment and all the mitigation funds from the coal terminal.

So, in Whatcom County we have something worse than a fascist government crony capitalist project, we have a three way partnership between, the government, the NGOs and Goldman Sachs. Let’s not for get Warren Buffet’s RR and Peabody Coal, either.

The WSJ has a front page article about the fact that the promised jobs from the green energy investment, never materialized.

The Obama administration continues to site the promised jobs as if they were facts, but that just isn’t the truth.

The WSJ article sites a wind farm in Texas that promised hundreds of new jobs, the fact is that there are only three workers at the wind farm.

Other green energy projects have laid off workers, gone in the other direction.
