LIVE DEBATE THREAD (Is it too early to start?)
I’ve only been listening, not viewing the debate — I find that helpful. Santorum got bloodied several times, and he sounds like a scared kid when he defends himself. He also spent way too much time admitting his voting mistakes.
Romney did better than Santorum tonight, and Romney stutters.
Newt got his energy points in, and that’s what will resonate best with everyone. We’ve got the resources. We’re Americans, we can do what needs to be done.
A complicated and interesting event, all in all. Now the commentators are up.
Ari Fleischer says it’s a good night for Newt and Mitt, but Rick missed his chance.
Brazile: Rick not ready for the big leagues. Gingrich still the statesman of the party.
Borger: nobody cares what she says but she’s interviewing Rick. “I have to tell you Sen., it got heated; you seem to be calling Gov Romney a hypocrite...?”
Rick talks about earmarks, refuses to call Mitt hypocrite though. Just implies it all over the place. Says it’s a favorable Romney crowd here. Keeps harping on Romney rather than Obama.
Borger: “divisive cultural issues” — what do you say?
Rick: Gallup says we’re doing well; complains that the questions are outrageous on social issues like contraception, but “I understand the game.”
All you Santorum people, you are sending us into the Obama abyss! The is guy just not Presidential material!
I very much hope you are correct about November. We can’t take any more O.
Donna Brazil is a very astute woman, to bad she is on the liberal side
Donna Brazile thought Romney did well, Santorum wasn't ready for the Big Leagues and Newt is still the elder statesmen of the party. I haven't seen other CNN "analysts" just interviews with Santorum and now Ron Paul.
Blessed lent to you as well Thomas.
That is what true “visionary” thinking is all about. The best Santo can do, is put people to sleep with mindless babbling or mimicking the real Master of political Zen!
It seemed to me that the audience booed Romney but then on second tought, they may have been booing King.
I agree. His plans sometimes do depend on what day it is though! lol “If it’s Tuesday, must be flat tax”!
Others
Bigtime.
We are in dire straights and a Bush lite, albeit mitt or Rick will not help us.. Newt will kickass and I am so sad for our party that people think RIck can bring it home.. very sad!
Yet there are those that think that Saint Ricky can go up against Obama. LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL.
I hate to say it, but if the RINO establishment forces Romney upon us as the nominee, then they deserve to lose.
If it becomes Romney vs Obama.... either way, America loses.
Even Donna Brassier from CNN agrees Newt won, thats kinda scary /
OMG! Donna is losing it. That is scary. She’s the number one woman on the plantation. She better be careful and not upset her liberal buddies.
Newt did great.
For REAL conservatives, Katie, Santorum was called tonight, on just a few of his liberal legislative actions, and there are more coming. Talking LIFE and voting for Title 10, or 9 had to be a jolt for more than a few of Rick’s supporters. Newt will rise again. For your sake, and all the glass you have crawled through for Newt, I salute you!
Newt did GREAT. Romney is a mess and I will be with you on voting day if he is the nominee. Vodka, anyone?
Ron Paul truly gives the impression that he reserves all of his clear thinking for fiscal and Constitutional issues, while completely abandoning it when the time comes for him to consider matters of foreign policy.
