New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is the top choice of Republicans if the party nominates its presidential candidate at a "brokered" convention this summer, according to a Quinnipiac University national poll released Wednesday.
Mr. Christie is favored by 32 percent of Republicans, followed by former Govs. Sarah Palin of Alaska and Jeb Bush of Florida with 20 percent each, the poll found. Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels is fourth at 15 percent.
Some conservatives are contemplating a so-called brokered Republican National Convention in Tampa, Fla., in August, in which none of the current candidates would have gained enough delegates to win the nomination and the party delegates would be free to nominate someone not in the primary race. Respondents in the Quinnipiac poll were asked to choose a candidate who's not in the current field. Mr. Christie has endorsed former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney.
The poll showed that 48 percent of Republican and Republican-leaning independent voters believe it would be bad for the party to engage in a brokered convention; 37 percent disagreed.

RINOs polled?
There’s another politician I wouldn’t vote for.
Candidates who drop out release their delegates usually asking them to vote for another candidate.
At convention time the first roll call is done. The vast majority of delegates are pledged\bound to a candidate. If no one has 50% + 1 of the votes there is a short recess and then a revote. The difference being that delgates are no longer pledged or bound to a particular candidate.
At this point ANYONE can be vote for.
The last time this happened by '76 Ford V. Reagan.
In 1924 it went 103 rounds.
I am not looking for 100%, but I am wanting someone who is solid on the bigger issues.
Christie on Gun Control
In an October 2009 appearance on Sean Hannity’s Fox News show, Christie voiced support for some gun-control laws:
HANNITY: Are there any issues where you are, quote, moderate to left as a Republican?
CHRISTIE: Listen, I favor some of the gun-control measures we have in New Jersey.
HANNITY: Bad idea.
CHRISTIE: Listen, we have a densely-populated state, and there’s a big hand gun problem in New Jersey. Now, I don’t support all the things that the governor supports by a long stretch. But I think on guns certain gun control issues, looking at it from a law-enforcement perspective, seeing how many police officers were killed, we have an illegal gun problem in New Jersey.
HANNITY: Should every should every citizen in the state be allowed to get a licensed weapon if they want one?
CHRISTIE: In New Jersey, that’s not going to happen, Sean.
HANNITY: Why?
CHRISTIE: Listen, the Democratic legislature we have, there’s no way those type of things listen, at the end of the day, what I support are common sense laws that will allow people to protect themselves, but I also am very concerned about the safety of our police officers on the streets, very concerned. And I want to make sure that we don’t have an abundance of guns out there.
I don’t think so but he has the category of largest choice without a doubt.
He is better than Romney though. At least he is honest about being a liberal.
I am not one to threaten to abandon my Party, but if the Repulblicans frustrate the will of the primary voters and impose Chris Christie on us, I will walk away.
I guess they have the rinos on speed dial.
Excuse me while I barf.
Want to bet that if any not-Romney candidate wins enough delegates there are still calls for a brokered convention?
Hey Jersey? Where you from?
And Reagan’s challenge so weakened incumbent President Ford that we ended up with four miserable years of Jimmy Carter.
Unintended consequences, I know, but it is important to remind ourselves that no man is perfect, even the now-sainted Reagan.
Sh*t, piss and corruption!!! Who the hell wants that RINO bastard? Come on Santorum...win your way to August!
Rinos had best be careful. People were not born yesterday.
Better than Romney, but we’d have to educate him about firearms rights.
He needs an education on many things, not just firearms. He’s a global warmist and lover of all illegals. He wants a pathway to citizenship for them. In other words, he’s an amnesty lover/greenie. Those other things plus his love of Muslims make him too liberal for me sooooo...
...No thanks. Do not want Christie.
Shore area
I’m not going to get into discussing Gov.Perry - he took himself out of the running.
Christie is for gun control; I suggest you look it up. I do not keep a record of Christie’s stands on issues as he is not running for a national office.
