This evening, speaking at North Carolina Central University in Durham, North Carolina, White House senior adviser Valerie Jarrett said that folks getting and spending unemployment checks is a healthy thing . . . because it stimulates the economy: "Even though we had a terrible economic crisis three years ago, throughout our country many people were suffering before the last three years, particularly in the black community," Jarrett said. "And so we need to make sure that we continue to support that important safety net. It not only is good for the family, but it's good for the economy. People who receive that unemployment check go out and spend it and help stimulate the economy, so that's healthy as well."

Must be why Obama has worked so hard for three years to keep people unemployed.
According to these moonbats, everything stimulates the economy except for private citizens engaging in productive activity.
If that’s the case, fire everyone in the White Hut and then we”ll see a true stimulated recovery? Sounds good to me.
Whoa! Wait just a damn minute. I know that I saw Elvis in Vegas just last week. In fact, I saw him many times.
How do they figure that works?
Unemployed have more time to shop or what?
Why are we bothering with the middle man? Just make everything in the world free.
Why should that poor Ethiopian be denied a steak dinner at Peter Luger?
Didn’t you know? Money comes from the end of a printing press. /s
People on that side seem to be saying this more and more, as it’s a foundation for a permanent redistributive society; Soviet Communism in all but name.
And that’s on their good days!
How & why are they still trying to peddle this stupidity? Who is stupid enough to buy this?
They are using the Big Lie technique. Read up on it and educate everyone you know about it.
...and the still-blaming-Bush crew hasn’t a CLUE about what constitutes a healthy economy.
...Which explains why ours sucks after three years of their idiocy!
My wife just got laid off. Now instead of making $1,500 a week she’s getting $525 a week. I’m still employed and I make a decent salary so we will be fine. However, her lay off will cause us to cancel some trips, postpone some home improvements, eat out less etc. How can this help stimulate the economy? Besides the point, she isn’t happy doing nothing. We are part of the one percent who like to work.

From Thomas Sowell:
Stealing money secretly-—theft
Stealing money openly by force-—robbery
A politician taking your money in taxes and giving it to someone more likely to vote for him-—SOCIAL JUSTICE
Obama could never have won the presidency and governed these last 3 years without the Big Lie technique.
It is the central governing tenant of his political strategy.
Jarrett's particular Big Lie is a recycled lie from last summer, propagated by members of the Goebbels Propaganda Machine---Nancy Pelosi, NPR, Media Matters. (No doubt there were more...a virtual chorus of liars always stand ready to do the bidding of the Party.)
How Unemployment Benefits Stimulate Economy---NPR, July 2010
obama has already said that!
Valerie..... when almost 50% of the working population does NOT pay any taxes, and another 13% or so are on unemployment, or welfare, or both (a certain percentage of that 13% having quit looking and don’t get unemployment now), the system WILL collapse.
Valerie is apparently HAPPY about that.
Hell has a special place for the people who create situations like this.
