Gas prices are spiking. That's great news, right? We have to wean ourselves off the stuff. At least that's what we've been hearing for years. Oil is dirty. We import it from nations that hate our guts (like Canada!).
And moreover, we're running out. Oil is "finite." Finite much in the way water is finite. So why aren't Democrats making the case that the spike in prices is a good thing? Isn't this basically our energy policy these days?
If Democrats had their way, after all, we would be enjoying the economic results of cap-and-trade policy these days -- a program designed to increase the cost of energy by creating false demand in a fabricated market.
As the theory goes, if you inflate the price of fossil fuels, the barbarians might finally start putting thought into how peat moss might be able to power a toaster.
In 2008, Steven Chu, Obama's (and, sadly, our own) future secretary of energy (sic) lamented, "Somehow we have to figure out how to boost the price of gasoline to the levels in Europe." ($9 the gallon)
Obama, when asked whether he thought $4-a-gallon gas prices were good for the American economy, said, "I think that I would have preferred a gradual adjustment."

The tax was originally supposed to be for 15 years, but like everything else in government once enacted it never goes away. The Federal gas tax is 18.4 cents. Even if it is repealed the states will just jack it up. We are in a lose lose situation.

They just wanted them after November 2012.
I would remind us that petroleum is found at levels way deeper than any plants or dinosaurs could have existed. In fact, it’s found in places that have never seen the light of day since the beginning. Also, the fields are under pressure, moving upward when possible. I have questions concerning this.
In 2006 the Democrats and the media screamed bloody murder over the high price of gas. When Barack Obama was inaugurated, the average gas price was $1.87 a gallon. Now that the price has more than doubled, what are the Democrats and the administration saying now?

“Contrary to popular belief, America has more energy than any nation on earth. All that’s keeping us from becoming energy independent is a lack of political will to do so.” Newt Gingrich
It’s that G.W.Bush making his oil buddies rich! Right?
Alternatively and what I think, the oil guys have had all they can take of the Boy in the White House and are collaborating to raise gas prices that will kill him.
He can bitch and moan all he wants but can’t get the price down. He is being screwed to the wall.
That is the real motivation here. hussein and his cohorts in crime have this crony capitalism thing down pat. I would literally bet every single thing I own that hussein and crew have buddies in the "green energy" business that they are trying to help out. So by enacting policies that push oil and gas prices higher, these "green" alternatives become more attractive, attract investors, etc. and the cronies get rich, and under the table hussein and crew get rich. It is power politics played with our wallets. FUBO.
Once the next administration is in office, I hope to see hussein and his cohorts in crime in prison before the end of 2013. That is my hope and prayer...
What are the chances the ineffectual campaign commercial writers for the GOP will run ads showing various high gas prices and then immediately follow those images with Chu saying he wanted us to be paying, at minimum, the same as Europe or the messiah saying “under my plan energy prices will necessaraly skyrocket”?
I seriously doubt it. They had the perfect anti-Hussein weapon with the phony/fake Rev. Wright and his G-D America rants and refused to run it 24/7 as they should have.
We are at war with an enemy using Saul Alinsky tactics (AKA no rules, anything goes) and the GOP tries to play nice. What a bunch of wimps.
They are so afraid of being called racist because they oppose this criminal Marxist in the WH. Well I say if the big BO is the best the Black Community has to offer then they DO have a serious problem and if telling the truth is racist then I’ll proudly be a truth telling racist.
“necessaraly” ??? What the heck is that and what were my fingers thinking?
How about “necessarily”?

Newt Gingrich Exposes Obama’s Secular-Socialist Machine that is threatening to uproot our freedom
“Newt Gingrich Exposes Obamas Secular-Socialist Machine that is threatening to uproot our freedom”
Gingrich criticized Obama’s foreign policy , back in Juin 2009:
“Look at the record of the last few weeks. President Obama indicates he’d like to deal with North Korea — they set off a nuclear weapon. He indicates we would like to deal with North Korea — they fire a missile. He indicates we would like to deal with North Korea — they suspend the 1953 armistice and say there’s no longer armistice in the Korea war. We indicate we’d like to talk to North Korea and a North Korean patrol boat penetrates South Korean waters, causing an incident. Now at some point, in that list, the North Koreans are sending us signals, but they’re not signals of respect and cooperation.”
“Similarly, several hours before the President spoke in Cairo, the Ayatollah actually said, the key leader of the dictatorship in Iran, gave a speech in which he said “beautiful speaks will not change the fact that we hate America. We hate America because of American policies. We’re going to continue to hate America.” And, as Andy McCarthy pointed out, it’s a little strange that the Iranians do everything they can to tell us that they’re determined to get nuclear weapons, they’re determine to finance terrorism, they’re determined to undermine the United States and destroy Israel, and we don’t seem to get any of those messages.”
“I think this is where the administration at some point this year is going to collide had-on with reality. In the case, as I said earlier, of Jimmy Carter, he just ignored it. I mean, he had 444 days of a hostage crisis. He had the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan. He had the Nicaraguan communists invading El Salvador and taking over Grenada. He just ignored all that stuff and it all just got worse. The President, I’m afraid, is going to find, sometime in the next 4 or 5 months, that nothing he says has any impact on the Iranian dictatorship. Nothing he says has any impact on the North Korean dictatorship.”
