A 20-year-old woman has been left brain dead - after she was Tasered by police and smacked her head on the ground. Danielle Maudsley had been taken to a Florida Highway Patrol Station after being arrested for a suspected hit-and-run in September. Handcuffed, she ran out of the door.

But as footage from a police cruiser dashboard camera reveals, Trooper Daniel Cole, who this week was cleared of any wrongdoing, fired a Taser's electric probes into her back.

She spun, fell backwards and hit her head on the ground. Bleeding and crying she tried to get up. She then blacked out and has remained unconscious ever since.

Use of tasers on handcuffed people should be a criminal act.

The poor young girl in this video couldn't even break her fall with her hands because she was in handcuffs. What this cop did was akin to shooting her in the back with his gun. She presented no risk to him or to others.

Excellent observation and post. I'd like to see the departmental regulations on use of the Taser.

this was far from an individual having a diabetic reaction. This was a punk with complete disregard for society and the safety of innocent people.

I used to be a patrol officer. Believe me, LEOs go through plenty of first aid and first responder training to understand the difference between a handcuffed criminal attempting to escape and an individual struggling with a diabetic reaction.

Life’s hard. it’s even harder when you’re stupid as this idiot found out the hard way. As for you, grow up and open your eyes. Your attitude and comments are insulting to hard working law enforcement officers everywhere.

and what procedure allows said handcuffed person to even be able to get outside ??? ASSuming that she had to get outta door to make it to the parking lot...
