VILLANOVA, Pa. Villanova University has canceled a workshop by a controversial gay performance artist, saying his shows aren't in keeping with the school's Catholic values.
Tim Miller tells The Philadelphia Inquirer (http://bit.ly/zjK9s9 ) he was told about the cancellation of next month's planned workshop on Sunday.
Miller gained notoriety in 1990 when he and three others had grants vetoed by the National Endowment for the Arts.
Miller's work is frequently provocative and he's been arrested in the past for demonstrating for AIDS research funding.

Thank Heavens.
I remember our church had a gay man that had left a wife and kids to “come out” give a talk. It was so wrong. He put his own sexual selfishness in front of the needs of his wife and kids, his wife who he took a vow to love before God and the congregation........
Villanova University Pro Life Alumnus bought a Statue of Jesus and Mary. Mary Holding a deceased Jesus Christ in her lap in honor of the Pro Life... Administration was outraged statue placed on Public Walkway from Commuter Parking lot to Chapel and school grounds. It was Banned for a Year until a Compromise placed it hidden in an alcove of the chapel entrance. Sad very Sad..
Cancelled? Why would they allow this pagan display in the first place?
The Episcopals had a guy like that.
They made him a bishop.
My Alma Mater.
Who has a copy of the “Captain Obvious” graphic? :)
Seriously... how did things get to the point where a Catholic University had to “cancel” this event? Wouldn’t this mean that they must have ACCEPTED it first? Maybe I’m just being silly... [/s]

High time to draw lines in the sand:
Villanova says it embraces intellectual freedom and academic discourse but has concerns about how Miller's work matches its "Catholic and Augustinian values and mission."
I can imagine how extreme this sicko's "art" is to have a grant pulled from the National Endowment for the Arts (which, btw, should one of the first fedgov programs to be eliminated by the next President. First in a long, long line of such).
I wonder how he got scheduled in the first place?
Ping-thx.
Perverts working there.
