The more I learn about Jefferson, the less I like him.
It galls me to watch George Washington and Abe Lincoln dancing and prancing on the TV, trying to sell cars, furniture, bedding, etc.
But my 'favorite' POTUS wasn't on the list: Millard Fillmore, our 13th President. So I went with Washington, The Father Of Our Country, and the man who could have been a King. And not because of Glenn Beck's latest book.
Fillmore is my 'favorite' POTUS solely because the man gets ZERO respect and when I was kid in Elem School -- Ike was POTUS at the time -- 'they' said Fillmore was our worst president. I never bought that. He sure wasn't perfect, but far from 'the worst'.
('they' say a lot don't 'they')
Serious people would always answer Washington. This doen’t minimize Reagan or Lincoln.
Washington could have been King.
Tough to argue with, but since Wilson pushed through the Fed, I wonder if he shouldn't at least outrank Carter in that game.
Not that I have a problem with Reagan, but how does he even come close to Washington. Another indictment of our glorious educational system.
Let’s face it, George Washington brought a very diverse nation together and presided over the creation of the USA.
Barry Goldwater said blockade Haiphong Harbor and bomb Hanoi, and we’ll bring them to their knees. He was called a Hawk.
When Nixon was elected, they blockaded the harbor and bombed Hanoi. But, instead of bringing them to their knees, the Liberals brought them to the bargaining table. What a waste of lives and materials that was.
Iraq and Afghanistan may turn out the same, if Ob**thead has his way.
