Rick Santorums spokeswoman Alice Stewart said in a TV interview on Monday that Santorum was referring to President Barack Obamas radical Islamic policies when he said the presidents agenda was driven by phony theology but then quickly called up MSNBC after the segment aired to say she misspoke.
There is a type of theological secularism when in comes to the global warmists in this country. Thats what he was referring to. He was referring to the presidents policies in terms of the radical Islamic policies the president has, Stewart said on Andrea Mitchell Reports.
Mitchell later said on the air that Stewart phoned the show after the interview to say she had slipped up and said radical Islamic policies instead of Obamas radical environmental policies.
Mitchell noted she had missed Stewarts phrasing of radical Islamic policies during the live interview.
She had repeatedly said during that same interview radical environmental policies and she said she slipped when she apparently said [it], Mitchell said. I did not hear it, or I would have caught her on it and tried to get a correction at the moment. I really, frankly, did not hear her use the word Islamic, but the tape tells the tale.
Santorum said in Ohio on Saturday that Obamas agenda is not about you. Its not about your quality of life. Its not about your jobs. Its about some phony ideal, some phony theology. Oh, not a theology based on the Bible, a different theology, but no less a theology.
Santorum stood by his remarks later, telling reporters he wasnt suggesting Obama is less of a Christian.

I wouldve called 0bama a “dirty moslem,” then apologized and corrected myself with “filthy moslem.”
A gaffe..LOL In other words: blunder, mistake, error, slip, faux pas, indiscretion, impropriety, miscalculation, gaucherie, solecism; informal slip-up, howler, boo-boo, fluff, flub, blooper, goof.
Seems the truth becomes a gaffe/boo-boo when the boo-booer realizes they are getting heat for their comment. Suddenly the truth becomes a simple mistake. LMAO
Rupert Murdoch also tweets that Rick Santorum's rise in polls shows "Values do count in America."
Are we going to have another person in training at the helm.
This is politics. He’s a Republican and the msm is lying in wait for anything he says that they can pounce on to bring him down. He can’t afford to ‘take chances’.
He has to be very careful what he says & how he says it - not fair, but it’s true.
He doesn’t have the luxury that Obama does, of being able to backtrack & explain what he meant. And if he has to explain what he meant twice in a week, he’s going to lose support & momentum.
He could try the Newt approach and start regularly calling out the media for twisting his words or his meaning and make them look like the hyenas they are.
Otherwise, he needs to choose his words very carefully to avoid providing them with ammunition.
Gotta admit, I wouldn’t be so antagonistic if there wasn’t a concerted effort to destroy Santorum here.
I do agree with your points. If Santorum and staff are going to say something, then he either needs to back it to the max, or discipline the staff member who said something he disagrees with.
Another “front runner” attack. The MSM playing “Whack a Mole”.
I think of him as The Ayatollah of All Crapola...
