Proposed changes include:
-- Increasing enrollment fees for retirees under age 65 in the TRICARE Prime health plan, using a tiered approach based on retired pay that requires senior-grade retirees with higher retired pay to pay more and junior-grade retirees less;
-- Establishing a new enrollment fee and increasing deductibles for the TRICARE Standard and TRICARE Extra plans;
-- Establishing a new, tiered enrollment fee for the TRICARE-for-Life program for retirees 65 and older;
-- Increasing pharmacy co-pays while offering incentive costs for use of mail order delivery and generic medicines;
-- Indexing fees, deductibles, pharmacy co-pays, and catastrophic caps to reflect the growth in national health care costs.

The funds raised in these FReepathons go to pay our current quarter expenses. But we're also going to try to replace some of our older servers and failing equipment this year so we're going to add a little extra to our FReepathon goals. John is estimating ten to fifteen thousand to do this and I'd like to get it all in place and working before the election cycle is fully heated up, so we'll try to bring in a little extra now, if we can, and the rest next quarter.

“changes” always seems to mean that you will be paying more...
Veterans and retirees evidently the one class of lower middle class Americans being expected to pay “a fair share” of increased tax
Of course the obama media will used retired generals turned Beltway bandits with gold plated health benefits as your typical retirees when in truth, most retired soldiers get far less than retired teachers
Remind me again how much more unions are being asked to pay for their taxpayer-subsidized benefits?
But hey, at least our BIRTH CONTROL AND ABORTIONS will be FREE
So this is the promised free for life health care we paid for with a lien on our very lives for 20 or more years?
Yes it is Brother. When I posted this last night, it was all I could do to keep profanity out of the post. This is Panetta’s plan and it is up to his discretion how he cuts the $500 billion. This will happen. The Administration parses their words about what is getting cut and the media (80% lib anyway) nods in agreement.
Since the Republicans took congress they have managed to push the democrats to cut a paltry $38 mil from spending. Most cuts are lies based on future growth “baseline” projections. This premium increase is the only thing I’ve seen that isn’t a baseline cut. It’s real, and I bet most retirees won’t find out about it till they get the bill in the mail.
Like another person said on this thread. they use Generals and Admirals as their examples of fat benifits....
I had more to say. Ah, screw it! WIth folks like John McCain as our only protecton from being picked apart, all is most definitely lost. I’l never say it was a mistake to serve, but it was most definitely a mistake to stay. It’s just a matter of time until they take it all back. I could’ve used those years differently.
