I'm curious- does anyone think that Palin has a chance in a brokered convention? Even if she is nominated, what about all the state filing deadlines that she has (PROBABLY) missed?
Ya, thanks for nutthin,’ National Review. You guys got Romney where he is. And you lost my subscription!
The answer to your question is that once it goes brokered, all previous bets are off. It was actually before primaries that it was done this way at the convention every time. Someone came up with the primary process to create the coronation as though everyone in the country had a hand in it and not just smokey backroom dealings like New York still uses that brought us the NY 23rd fiasco of Dede. The press turned into the smokey backroom.
Now as for the Party’s nominee, it is whomever the candidates are for the party for the general election and the Party makes that choice. Or did you not notice that at the convention each of the candidates is also entered into the official proceedings by someone officially nominating each candidate before the first vote is cast?
It’s all a show folks, and the average republican voter is the customer of the P.T. Barnum bag of tricks.
