Energy Policy: If gasoline prices so far are any indication, the pain at the pump will be severe this year. But if you think President Obama cares, you're wrong. If anything, he's secretly cheering it on.
Already, average pump prices have topped $3.50 a gallon, leading some experts to think they could reach an all-time high of $5 by the summer.
So what's Obama's response? He treats it like a badge of honor, saying this week that "gas prices are on the rise again because as the economy strengthens, global demand for oil increases."
But what else can he say?
During his presidential campaign, Obama admitted he didn't have a problem with sky-high gasoline prices, he just "would have preferred a gradual adjustment."
His choice for energy secretary, Steven Chu, certainly doesn't mind them. Before joining the administration he said that "somehow we have to figure out how to boost the price of gasoline to the levels in Europe."
And last year, Chu claimed "the price of gasoline over the long haul should be expected to go up."
At the same time, Obama has repeatedly feigned an inability to do anything about oil prices. Last April, he said: "I'm just going to be honest with you. There's not much we can do next week or two weeks from now."

Yet I keep hearing how he's skyrocketing in the polls. Go figger.
Of course. The taxpayers buy his gas.
LOL Nice, that picture of him laughing was just too perfect to not use.
Energy prices are going up, but not because of demand. Energy usage is actually going down.
They want prices to go up. First, in service to their Saudi masters. Second, in order to make non-existent “alternative” fuels that their friends are invested in look more economical. And third, to make non-existent public transportation look more viable and to train people to want it.
And fourth, because kids just can’t refrain from turning dials and poking at buttons. They believe they ought to have control over the price of fuel and they are going to exercise it, whether or not to everyone’s detriment, just because they think they ought to have the right to do it.
Anything that increases their control over people is a good thing in their eyes.
His people don't drive long distances...they take the subway, the ell, or the bus.
Liberation Theology is an attack on middleclassedness...on Whitey (and Uncle Tom)!
What's not to understand!
Get Whitey...GD America!
Global demand has risen, just not US.
He can argue all he wants to about how good the economy is getting but with gas at $4 to $5 a gallon people are going to be pissed and I certainly hope the Republicans are smart enough to high light his “Green Energy Policy”.

Energy prices will necessarily skyrocket, but what Mr. Soetoro does not realize is they will be skyrocketing up his wazoo aperture.
The higher the price of gasoline, the less likely Obama is to win reelection.
I figger it's 'cause the MSM isn't wringing their hands, freakin' about the horror, and lamenting in dramatic acts of great anguish.
But not to worry - when a Republican's President even a ten cent increase in gas prices will be a call for panic. And unemployment? If it's above 6% when we're in office - the press will run with stories about 'the homeless' and suffering citizens - and 'don't we care'? They'll run with it - and run with it - and run with it - daily!

Well Duuuuuugh...
Thanks Kaslin.
When will they ever pull their heads out of their arses?
If you take off at least 10 point of his approval rating, then you come more to the truth
