The Virginia Senate on Monday passed the House bill that repeals the states longstanding law limiting handgun purchases to one per month, sending the legislation to the desk of Gov. Bob McDonnell, who has said he would sign it.
Opponents of the law, put in place in 1993 to prevent gun-runners from shuttling firearms from Virginia to other states along the East Coast, say that the technology related to background checks and the numerous exemptions in the law has rendered it obsolete.

It is crazy to set up a huge expensive bureaucratic system, require everyone to jump though hoops and prove that they are *not* criminals in order to try, ineffectively, to prevent the few individuals who are not responsible, from having legal access to guns. This is a failed paradigm, and it should be abandoned. To accept the idea that the all gun sales should be monitored by the government, and only allowed to those it deems satisfactory is fundamentally wrong.
The entire idea of the enterprise has always been the death of a thousand cuts, where the restrictions on who can buy, and where, and how and what are continually increased until the number of gun owners is reduced to political insignificance.

I hope he checked with Romney first to get his approval.
Yeah, pretty much a stupid law. Case in point, my wife and I have recently decided to arm ourselves. So one gun for the house, one for me (cc) and one for her (cc). Three total, and under the current law would have to wait 3 months to get them all. Ridiculous.
So what do you do if you want to purchase a his/her Valentine’s Day gift set???
When the hell will the lugnuts in the NJ State Assembly understand this, and follow suit?
It was obsolete from the Git-Go if they enforced the Straw Man rules on the 4473. A couple of high profile cases where the perp gets fined $5,000 and five years in a Federal penitentiary FOR EVERY VIOLATION would have snuffed that out real quick. However, the aim was just to make it harder for gun buyers and the Straw Man reg was conveniently overlooked.
When they repeal one gun a month, it will only be due to the impending new law, one gun a year. It's for the children, ya know.
As long as you have a concealed carry permit you’re OK. OGAM doesn’t apply.
