I understand. I am completely convinced that the number one issue facing America is abortion. The slaughter of the innocent is very near to the heart of God. I think though, Mr. Santorum will have a hard go. One thing that bothers me most is his 17 point loss in Penn. as Senator. I know it was a bad year, but it was not that bad. I could understand even a 10 point loss in that climate. But he went down hard. This election is too important to me for me to excuse that type of performance. Having said that I will vote for Rick if he wins the nomination. Everyone keeps saying we need someone with big solutions (not bigger government) and a ‘voice’ that can articulate the conservative message. We have such a man: Newt Gingrich.

Part of the reason that Santorum went down so hard was because of the deceit of his opponent. Another part of it was that he was one of the only people in Congress to actually stand up for the mission of our troops in Iraq while all the rest were cowering in the corner. It was a very bad year all around.

I believe that Newt could be a very strong President, and definitely 'conveys the message' well, but when it came down to deciding between the two, I chose Santorum.

That said, I will fight tooth and nail for Newt, if he is the nominee, in spite of my reservations about him.
