Missionary Sister of St. Charl, Melrose Park, illinois. Sister Marissonia Daltoe, stands near the convent's garden that shows the new gentleman's club that is to close to the Sisters Convent. February 7Th,2012 I Scott Stewart~Sun-Times
"Proposed strip club to nuns: Dont impose your religious beliefs on us".
The strip club is looking for free publicity at the expense of the nuns. I suspect that, in a few years, the strip club will be bankrupt, like most other new clubs. The nuns will soldier on.
I wonder what they’d have to say if it were a Mosque that had objections...
...with much thanks to our Catholic bashing money printer.
The nuns should erect a large cross on their property line next to the club. I’ll be the mayor could find an ordinance to have them remove it. If not, perhaps it would be a good witness.
“Missionary Sister of St. Charl, Melrose Park, illinois”
Missionary? One would think that a strip club would provide a wealth of sinners from which to harvest. Perhaps they need to think that their glass is half full.
You can take your “moral Christian principles” and shove them up your habit sister.
Back in the day it was, "believe as we do, or die!" Now it's "believe as we do, or we'll break you financially, and disgrace you in the community in which you've chosen to live and work!" Not death, to be sure, but not too far from it.
IMHO: I demand, "RAPTURE NOW"!
This guy should not impose the avarice and crime that goes along with his kind of business on nuns.
However, he is following the law. This must be a town that does not have laws as to how far a strip or alcohol bar can be build in proximity to schools and churches?
Nuns to club:
“Don’t impose your smut on our community!”
I hope they ring their church bell every hour!
Actually, the nuns should use this situation as an opportunity:
1) The nuns should hold prayer services/place signs on their property, within earshot/sight of the the strip club.
2)Use these prayer services/signs to remind the young ladies(who WILL eventually bottom out on drugs, spousal beating etc) that Christ is ALWAYS there for them, regardless of their past.
3) A reminder of the saga of Mary Magdalene to these women would be a bonus.
God sometimes places an opportunity right in our face yet we do not see it.
JMO...
Perhaps, this would be merely a local zoning issue if the same balance were given to permit the free exercise of religion.
In the world of the Sun-Times, it’s a story because intolerant religious zealots object to amoral behavior. When the intolerant atheists object to the Ten Commandments, they are noble citizens protecting the Constitution.
It’s time to recognize and expose the agenda of left wing rags.
They have every right to have an opinion and to state their opinion.
“That’s a man, baby.”
Folks, the simplest solution is for the nuns to ATTEND the strip club. Sit in the front row, order water, pay the minimum (ladies night?) and chat with the dancers about how they might make their lives better.
In full traditional habit if they can.
Let’s just say it will change the mood for the men who would be attending.
Now I get it. Most lesbians do oppose strip clubs.
Ladies, it’s time to move your daily prayers to right behind that building. All of you. At full volume. At all the hours you’d normally do them. I have no doubt that will add just the atmosphere your new neighbor was seeking for a strip bar.
How about the nuns set up cameras which pictuer everyone that walks into the club?
Shows the name of the owner of the vehible that goes into the club.
Make it a humiliation to patronize it.
peaceful protest via jumbotron and internet.
In TN it’s illegal for a strip club or sex venue to be near a school. Most Catholic churches and convents have schools.
I doubt a law like that exist in Illinois.
