Santorum will spend far more time answering these types of questions in a General Election than he would all others combined.

They're going easy on him now as they would love to see a decades-long culture warrior as the GOP nominee.

Unfortunately, there's a real good chance they'll get their wish.

Santorum will NOT be vetted on cultural issues in a GOP primary. Everyone is afraid of his fellow Social Conservatives...30-40% of the GOP electorate who often votes as a bloc.

Only Social Conservatives are empowered to look at this man's positions and judge how they will play in the General Election. This cannot be an emotional evaluation. It must be a severe, intellectual examination.

Because, once the G3eneral Campaign starts you can bet your sweet bippy the left will go after Santorum as viciously as they can on what are certainly winning issues.

If Santorum is the nominee, Obama will win at least 45 states and at least 58% of the vote.

Easy.

From your intellectual standpoint, what questions would you ask Santorum?

Oh for goodness sakes. 45 states? Right now he is the one who is tied with Obama in the general. What happened to everyone saying that you could put up a monkey and they would win. Are we seriously thinking that Obama would win with any of our candidates? Are you sure you are not an Obama supporter? Anybody who is saying Obama is going to win in November with Santorum is obviously working for Obama.

That won't ever happen, regardless of who the GOP candidate might be. Obama, with his typical arrogance with requiring religious organizations to fund abortions and birth control, has created the seeds of the greatest crushing defeat of all time in American politics. The last thing Obama wants to face in November is a genuine pro-life candidate. There never has been a mandate from the people for abortions in this country and now with this latest example of religious bigotry, it seals the fate of those who embrace the culture of death.

Yep. They’re holding some stuff back too, to no-doubt use if he becomes the nominee. For example, one of my “friends” on FaceBook posted a video of him talking with constituents in which he says “I don’t want to make black people’s lives better by giving them somebody else’s money”. You can bet they’ll be playing that 24x7 if he wins.

. It must be a severe, intellectual examination.

Santorum's religiosity, which is in step with our Framers, never accepted abortion.

In IL, Senator Hussein voted to let babies who were supposed to be aborted, but oops, were born alive, to be set aside to die. What is the body count since 1973? 40 million?

Does that count as an intellectual comparison to you or is it just emotional? Is 40 million a tragedy or just a statistic?

The response for every socially conservative candidate should be as follows:

1. I am a Constitutionalist. This means whatever you do in your private life is your business. It is NOT the Government’s Business. Period.

2. Whatever you do in your private life is your responsibility so DO NOT make your fellow citizens pay for your actions.

Enough Said.

I think you're a bit high with those numbers, but you're on the right track. If it's Obama vs. Santorum, Obama will win handily. And yes, I'd bet on that. I wonder if Vegas accepts those kind of bets.

The problem is that if it's not Santorum as nominee, then must it be Mittens? Ugh.

By the way, I'm afraid you're going to be a victim of a kill-the-messenger routine.

Santorum is a far better general election candidate then you think unlike Mitt who is going to get railed he was born with a silver spoon in his mouth and Newt who is an automatic 20 point gender gap and that is being intellectually honest Santorum actually appeals to the blue dog Reagan democrats of the midwest with his working class backround and love he has of his original wife kinda need a few of those to win the swing states

“30-40% of the GOP electorate who often votes as a bloc”

Really? And who did they vote for, as a block, in South Carolina?

Why is it that social liberals in the GOP get to vote for who they want - and they are going big time for Mitt - while social conservatives are expected to bow down and work for anyone ‘our’ Establishment wants without question?

Thank God, you have save us from making a horrible mistake Mariner, unless of course you are full of it, as I suspect you are.

Maybe we should listen to Sarah's admonition, yesterday, to not do the Lamestream Media's job for them.
