Obama/Romneycare is why I don’t think mitt be will any good as pres.
Right and the Episcopal Church follows the same readings also.
Just watched Meet the Press to see how Santorum did.
He did okay, but he kept that stupid grin on his face while monky face kept insulting him and bringing up lies.
I found myself longing for a cranky, dismissive Newt.
Pray for America
Sorry for the triple post.
Sorry for the triple post.
Sorry for the triple post.
FR's a bit "frisky," this morning.
“FR’s a bit “frisky,” this morning.”
On my end FR has been down the better part of the day. Must be the Freedom Doctrine taking over.
Didn’t paul win last time? That shows how much it means.
I am Lutheran and that is what our paster preached pn.
I am sorry to be late reporting but I got so many error messages yesterday I couldn’t get on.
The Archdiocese of Indianapolis believes the “compromise” is an accounting trick. Monsignor explained how we would still be paying for it with our premiums, because it is his experience that insurance companies do not give anything for free.
The entire homily was about how we shouldn’t be tricked, that we are not stupid people, that the Bishops are speaking for us but they need the people to back them up, and to call our senators and congressmen. We were given phone numbers and fax numbers along with the explanation that emails are often ignored and regular mail takes too long due to security.
We were told we were not sheep and could figure out what to say ourselves, but that it was important not only for Catholics but all people who believe that conscience is important, even independent businesses and other religions and even atheists.
We were all given handouts with copies of the letter the bishops had written, answers refuting the White House talking points, and there were two petitions to sign supporting different ways to oppose this (one legislative, one judicial). I signed both.
While I was waiting in line to sign the petitions, I talked about how this is a First Amendment issue, don’t let them fool you, that the next thing would be gay marriage, Obamacare, people being ordered to do all sorts of things, etc. Lots of people in line fired up about Obamacare and the fact that it will promote euthanasia.
I was very pleased to see the archdiocese and my parish taking such a strong stand.
By the way, the homily was tied into Paul’s letter to Corinth, and how Corinth was a pluralistic society in which Christians had to live, and how the US has been pluralistic, but this ruling makes us have less religious freedom than ancient Corinth.
