I am old enough to remember 1998 and 1999. I was on Free Republic back then. It was critical we get Bill Clinton out of office. Newt Gingrich saved his presidency. The second he was caught having his affair Clinton was saved. And Gingrich knew that. He is a traitor.

Nope, Chester Lott and Santorum saved his presidency and I don’t recall you being here in ‘99. You’re very fortunate Jim has given you a pass when it comes to slandering Newt Gingrich because you’re one of the worst vile offenders.

January 24, 2011 interview, Sen. Santorum said the United States is in need of more foreign workers. “I do think we need more people coming to this nation who want to be Americans to grow this economy. You want to fix the Social Security problem? Let’s have more workers producing and helping out the situation. For me, I’m willing to allow increased immigration to this country...”

So we can all agree with Santorum on this, that MORE immigrants, (’open the spigot’- in his words) is what is needed to fix our problems, including our low birthrates correct? This is what he said. And that they ‘learn English’- (his words again) and just a guess I but I think I know where these ‘new’ immigrants will be comming from don't you?. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=sUSUGIfggTI

“Newt Gingrich saved his presidency.”

Bob Dole saved Clinton’s presidency.

PS. Rick Santorum has backtracked from his 2008 endorsement of Mitt Romney by saying he was for “anyone but McCain.” In this 2008 interview with Laura Ingraham Santorum praised Romney at great length — contradicting some of what he says today. In the interview, Santorum calls Romney a “true conservative” and says he “is someone we can trust.” http://www.buzzfeed.com/andrewkaczynski/seven-minutes-of-rick-santorum-talking-about-how-g

“The second he was caught having his affair Clinton was saved.”

How can that be? Newt didn’t resign until ‘99.

Clinton was reelected in ‘96.

Please tell me that your reference to traitor in that last sentence is to Clinton.

Not only is your classless rhetoric older than your tired, worn out disinformation, it reflects your intellectual dishonesty. But more so, when you go out of your way to condemn and disrespect the man the way you do, it merely illustrates who and what you truly are. By comparison, you could not qualify for a lace in the honorable speaker's shoes. And your own pathetic life is a direct result of what you have accomplished or the path that you have chosen. And I hardly think you can even claim 1/100th of the amazing things Newt Gingrich has achieved in his phenomenal life.

By repeatedly making deep personal cuts and assassinating Speaker Gingrich from behind your keyboard unchallenged, you think you are so clever in the belief that you are getting away with it. But in the end, we all lose, because you are contributing to destroying his chances of winning, even though it is ever so small.

In the event that Romney wins, you will be the one to complain the loudest, we can be sure. And in your ignorance, you will have not a thread of remorse for doing your part to make that happen, because you are incapable of understanding what it is you are actually doing.

Does that excuse you from what it is you are doing? Not at all, because you have been repeatedly opposed and warned about what you are doing.

Well, Nick, I believe you've earned the Best Rewriting of History of the Day Award from the Mitt Romney Historical Society.

Newt's affair was not public knowledge until after he was reelected in 1998 and subsequently left Congress. If it had been, the media would have plastered it all over the place and he surely would have neither run for nor won reelection.

That news didn't come out until Newt was engaged in divorce proceedings with his wife the year after he left Congress and the year after Bill Clinton was impeached.

http://articles.latimes.com/1999/aug/17/local/me-1039

Marianne Gingrich told the Washington Post that she was informed of the affair and the request for a divorce last May...Marianne Gingrich told the Post she was "totally shocked" by the news, and her attorneys last week obtained court permission to interview Gingrich and Callista Bisek

So if Marianne Gingrich was "shocked" about it in May, 1999, 6 months after Newt left Congress and after Bill Clinton was impeached on December 19, 1998, please explain your timeline on how the affair had any effect on the impeachment debate?

I don't personally think that people who make up lies deserve to be members of this forum.
