LOS ANGELES - Whitney Houston, who ruled as pop music's queen until her majestic voice and regal image were ravaged by drug use, erratic behavior and a tumultuous marriage to singer Bobby Brown, has died. She was 48.

I have a gift in my brain (computers) and friends who tried very hard to protect me. Wasn't enough.
I needed to stop trying to run my life; I needed to get a Higher Power; I needed a sponsor who showed me how to take the 12 Steps; I needed to act and take those Steps.
I hope this thread lasts longer than the other 3 (at least) that have been pulled. Shame, shame, shame on FReepers tonite! :~(( If people don’t haven’t anything nice or decent to say about Whitney Houston, they should keep it to themselves!
She was a great talent. I was hoping she would make a triumphant comeback after she left Bobby Brown. RIP.
I agree. I think it is a shame she is dead, but if it was drugs, then she did it to herself. What a waste!
And not only themselves, but they destroy others by their actions too.
RIP WH
Either way, tragic. RIP.
No surprise here. There are pics of her out of her mind from 2 days ago. A true waste.
“What did she see in Bobby Brown in the first place?”

RIP Whitney. Thanks for your support of our troops during the Gulf War.
Aww, we don’t want to remember her by that!
I sure hurt others around me when I was in active addiction. No one uses drugs into a vaccuum.
No she didnt’. Looks like an ordinary sneeze to me.
Yeah don’t she just look like an ape. I hope someone takes a picture of you answering the call on nature so your relatives can display it on your coffin. Hatred is the desired norm these days
Live your perfect life. Sanctimonious twit.

It is a tragedy, my friend. As a recovering addict myself, I can tell you from personal experience, we lose the power of choice. Only by DAILY MAINTENANCE of my spiritual condition do I get a reprieve, and only one day at a time. I am one of the blessed ones; I survived.
Lindsey Lohan, you listening to this?
I know that Laz, and anyone who beats it is a strong person!
Stay that way. ;)
