WSJ Almost Uniquely Raises Self-Insurance Issue in 'Immaculate Contraception' Editorial
News Busters ^ | 2-11-12 | Tony Blumer

Yesterday's announcement by President Obama (headlined at the White House's website as "Remarks by the President on Preventive Care") of planned revisions to an ObamaCare-driven rule which, in the President's words, "if a woman’s employer is a charity or a hospital that has a religious objection to providing contraceptive services as part of their health plan, the insurance company -– not the hospital, not the charity -– will be required to reach out and offer the woman contraceptive care free of charge, without co-pays and without hassles."

Showing just how out of touch the establishment press is with reality, an editorial this morning in the Wall Street Journal cutely titled "Immaculate Contraception" points out something most, including the Associated Press, have missed -- that in a large number of cases involving many thousands of employees, there is no "insurance company" there to directly pay for these services:

Okay American Catholics and other ‘people of conscience’, Obama the Great has spoken. You may now return to your slumber!

OK, so who PAYS the insurance company to insure the women demanding FREE no-hassle abortficants (we are not just talking about IUD’s and pills here)?

Why, the employer. The CATHOLIC employer.

d.oh.

(why are abortificants “free” but treating a strep throat or ear infection or broken arm has a co-pay? WHO made artifical birth control up to abortion, a human right?)

Even if there were an insurance company, wouldn’t the Catholic entity paying the premiums still be paying for birth control and abortion? How is this a win for anyone but Obama?

This is sickening, absolutely sickening.

Obama is tricking the country, and it's not even a very good trick.

Instead of the employer having to pay for objectionable items, now it's the insurance company. But who pays the insurance premiums? At least partly, the employer does!

And by what right does Obama (or anyone else) have to tell any company what they can and cannot cover?

If the Supreme Court doesn't strike this down, I suggest we save money be simply abolishing the Supreme Court. Just let Obama rule as king. He's doing it now anyway.

Obama is a lot more Franco and a lot less Franco Harris.

Obama assumed the Catholics are like him. I think he assumed that they were feigning outrage and if he could give them a way out they'd take it. Obama is on another planet.

Especially since one of the justices says that the Constitution is an unworthy document.

I’d hate to begin to count the number of times I heard the word “compromise” in the MSM yesterday describing “the great compromiser” and his fabulous pragmatic “concession”. The only difference between the original decision and this one is semantic.

Not being a Roman Catholic, it is amusing to watch the “kumbaya crew” squirm after their champion turned on them.

This is NOT going to go away, unless, of course, the utterly hapless conservatives allow it to do so.

It might be amusing to you but it isn’t amusing to ‘we Catholics’, who are being painted by a very broad brush. Sadly we seem to be represented by tons of evil politicians, who claim to be Catholic, and taint all of us.

People can still claim to be Catholic but by their own actions can excommunicate themselves. I wish the Bishops would do it publicly but they are weak, and have sinned too.

But, I’m in south Texas, where I and my Catholic friends still try to obey the laws of the church and we don’t vote for people like Obama.

THE GREAT ‘COMPROMISER’ ...

He who dared to speak as a Christian... when he so vociferously espoused killing living babies that survived abortions by sticking a knife in their necks or starving them to death?????

FEH! SPIT!!!

Kerry and Pelosi should be excommunicated and sent to jail for their support of the killing of 50,000,000 babies since Rie v Wade. ...”The Mother’s Rights!”... What about the babies’ rights????
