Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Saturday the Islamic Republic would soon announce "very important" achievements in the nuclear field, state TV reported.

He was speaking on the 33rd anniversary of the Islamic revolution. Tens of thousands of Iranians joined state-organized rallies across the country to mark the occasion.

Demonstrators carrying Iranian flags and pictures of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei chanted "Death to Israel" and "Death to America."

Hamas Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh, who arrived in Iran on Friday for three-day trip, also spoke at the ceremony. Haniyeh vowed that the Hamas movement will never recognize the State of Israel and will continue its resistance until all Palestinian lands are liberated.

On Friday, Iran pledged to back Palestinian resistance against Israel, saying "soon the Zionist regime will be punished for its plots and aggression".

Which is why they must be made a glass factory. You will never negotiate with these heathens. Just eliminate all of them and let Allah sort them out.

Iran isn't Afghanistan. There's hope for the Iranians, who are Persians, and significantly westernized.

The regime is supported by a significant portion of the people, but a minority.

The revolt, earlier this year, probably would have succeeded with outside support.

Economic pressure will not affect the religious fanatics. They must be taken out by whatever means necessary. A solution to the immediate threat would be the destruction of their nuclear facilities. The next step necessary to remove this threat is to overturn the regime.

When a politician says that we shouldn’t worry about Iran’s aspirations, but we should basically abandon Israel, I don’t think it’s unreasonable to ask a fundamental question, such as, “Who is funding this politician.”

As crazy as that sounds.

I still think the day that iran test a nuke, that test will be in Tel Aviv.

I agree...And when he shows up on tv in a few days to announce his earth shattering news, he may well tell the World that they have succeeded in producing a usable atomic weapon, with the launch button right here...

Let's see if it works...

That little flea Ahmadinejad has put himself at war against the Lord God Himself by threatening Israel repeatedly.

This video is rather amusing. At 1:05 it even holds the colors of the Iran’s flag. lol!

Doesn’t sound like sanctions are bothering Iran’s government or economic health in any significant way
A fanatical state that is only concerned with the appearance of their counterfeit messiah (the Mahdi) won’t give a flying anything about economic sanctions, as though all they cared about was money.

I have never forgotten reading about this then and came across this again today in some research. It’s from 2005. It should give everyone chills up their spine.

You raise a very vital point. Are these sanctions working as predicted?

The sanctions are reported to be having a negative effect on Iran’s trade, and their currency has dropped sharply in value. This week, there is a story that Iran has defaulted on payments for rice shipments from India.

However ... this is not as dramatic as hyped. The Indian and Iranian govts are arranging alternative means of payments, possibly an oil barter. The fall in the currency means that Iranian manufactures are cheap, and are not threatened by Chinese imports. India is making moves to increase its trade with Iran.

Worse still, the ban on Iranian oil is hitting the already stressed EU countries. Hitting them very hard indeed. China and India are getting the oil cheap, meanwhile.

So it is hard to say if the sanctions are effective. We don’t know yet.

They will build up all of the hype and the eyes of the world will be turned towards Tehran.

And he will stand before the world....and turn on a lightbulb. Just like they have been saying for years.

These guys are not stupid. They know they would not last ten seconds against us. So they make us out to be fools. And we keep falling for it.
