Newt Gingrich Just Totally KILLED It At CPAC.
Business Insider ^ | February 10, 2012 | Grace Wyler

Posted on 02/10/2012 9:02:17 PM PST by true believer forever

Newt Gingrich was on fire at CPAC this afternoon, proving once again that the former House Speaker is political Teflon.

Apparently recovered after his epic meltdown in Nevada, Gingrich revved up the crowd at CPAC with an impassioned version of his stump speech that hit all the conservative high notes (Obamacare, taxes, war on religion, et. al.) In short, Gingrich managed to give the audience the "red meat" that his main rival Mitt Romney failed to deliver earlier this afternoon.

Even with Romney out of this election, the negatives on other candidates will not end. Romney will continue so as to enhance his chances in 2016 as he did in 2008, attacking Palin to enhance his chances this election.

Never said the negatives will end; said they will slow to a trickle of what the Romney campaign is injecting into the media.

Agree that Romney with his tens of millions in backing will always be back for more. But he has never been popular so he is only good as a spoiler.

The TP grassroots could raise $70 million in a few days back in 2010. That spoke volumes to the power-brokers in Washington.

There is a long road to the Texas primary:

It looks like the judges in Texas are serious about the primary happening in April:

You are corrrect! Newt is not GOD! However, he is the last best chance we have to beat Obama and to bring change to DC.

I have become very frustrated with the constant theft of Newt's ideas by his opponents like it/they is/are their original idea/s.

As one of the very first outspoken supporters of Newt on FR, I have followed his words, read his plans, suggested others to his people and was totally ignored here in my old home, until Jim also jumped on Newt's bandwagon.

Well, here I remain ... with all of his warts, Newt is our best chance and possibly our only chance.

The fickle people who are jumping from candidate to candidate, frustrate me.

I am sick of the past being some kind of boogie man -- I was taught to forgive others and Newt certainly has made reparation for his own "sins".

I am not totally affronted by Rick -- BUT, I cannot fully trust one who supports UNIONS and who helped us lose any chance for a balanced Senate with his support of Arlen. That is still with us today -- Santorum's support of that RINO, then Dem then Independent, or whatever. He backed a crazy man who fell back on some obscure "Scottish Law" when Clinton had been impeached.

I don't think we need you American Constitutionalist to rain on the parade for our current LAST, BEST Chance!

Forgive me when I yell, it seems some cannot hear or understand our grave situation and that makes me YELL!

And he does little meetings like this all the time, no fanfare, they never make the news. But he listens, and not just for show:

Well, if he ever wants to learn how REAL habitat restoration works, how to handle the environmental left as a corrupt and bureaucratic resource manipulation machine, and how to establish an entirely new industry in free-market resource management, than he or his staff can contact me.

I know the game, I know its history, I know how to fix it, I know what WILL HAPPEN, if we don't, and I know G_d's preventative strategy for preserving liberty on the land. I have the credentials to prove it.

Regulatory government has more to do with the disaster we are facing than does excessive taxation. Meanwhile, there are very simple unifying principles to fix the problem that translate from system to system, whether environmental, worker safety, education, or healthcare. NOBODY talks about them in this context. Yet I can't get past the consultants to explain it to someone who can communicate to the public. It's very frustrating.

As impressive as the picture is there is just something wrong that at first I couldn’t put my finger on and then the a-ha moment.

It’s Chuck, he just doesn’t seem to fit quite right. Even though he’s smiling he seems to have that look about him where he’s ready to chew on nails and spit out tacks.

If you mean the music when the speakers entered and while they shook hands afterwards, if you watch the other speeches the music is the SAME.

Lots of clips replayed on my local TV in Reno with Romney trying to convince us that he is a ‘Conservative’, but not one word that Newt even gave a speech......sigh...

OK then, it was odd for all of them. I caught the replay of Gingrich and didn’t really care what Romney had to say. I missed Santorum altogether as I wasn’t home yet.

“And I guess according to the Newt supporters the sun don’t rise in the east unless Newt says it rises in the east..

If that’s what you took from such a comment you are insane.

“Newt is not GOD as some of the Newt supporters make him out to be....”

Yep, you are insane. You see support of Newt as worshiping him. I like ice cream, too, but I don’t see it as God, either.

Go bash Newt someplace else...like DU.

I have noticed in-between car work that they are least playing some good Country music today. I enjoy watching CPAC. It beats the heck out of anything else.

Hasn’t that moron been kicked to the curb already? It’s no use with idiots that equate governance within the Constitution as some kind of idol worship. Kids don’t grasp the meaning of the Founders as they are quite ignorant in the reason for our Nation.
