Newt Gingrich was on fire at CPAC this afternoon, proving once again that the former House Speaker is political Teflon.
Apparently recovered after his epic meltdown in Nevada, Gingrich revved up the crowd at CPAC with an impassioned version of his stump speech that hit all the conservative high notes (Obamacare, taxes, war on religion, et. al.) In short, Gingrich managed to give the audience the "red meat" that his main rival Mitt Romney failed to deliver earlier this afternoon.

This is how we do it.
It was my first chance to see the replay and it was very good. The music is odd.
Excellent speech. The music ain’t odd, that’s Satriani.
Newt is down to like 16 percent. Jeb will be the nominee.
How does that relate to Newt?
Oh, that’s the way, uh-huh uh-huh,
I like it, uh-huh, uh-huh.
That’s the way, uh-huh uh-huh,
Nice! One more need to match Ollie after today..
I LIKE IT!!!
I’m glad to see they’re revving up the phone banks. I went to a local city here in Florida because I thought I was going to be doing GOTV calling and it turned out that Gingrich’s campaign meister had already given up on Florida and was basically having us do research. So while we could have called voters and asked them to vote, we called different specific target group representatives and asked them how they might vote at some point in the future. And they weren’t even home because traditionally this was their day off.
So the volunteers we had not only wasted their time, but volunteers who came in actually left when they realized they weren’t going to be calling people to get them to the polls.
If we could have gotten out the vote (GOTV), it would have made a big difference.
yes, and I really like the way Michael Reagan is holding his jacket, I wish everybody would have been holding their jackets that way - even Newt... that would have been 2cool...
If Jeb is the nominee, I will not vote. At my age, this might be my last chance to vote for the President of the US. So be it, I will not vote for either Jeb or Mitt.
Skill, capability, talent, virtuosity...
Callista’s the musician, maybe it was her choice.
I worked in Florida, and it was a very difficult time. I am to the point, where I actually believe that there are infiltrators in Newt’s campaign, meaning to hurt him, and I am only as conspiracy-prone as the average person.
A lot of the midlevel people have resigned, not the highups, but the head of his social networking, all of his social media, quit last week because her subordinate admins couldn’t delete a negative or inappropriate post from any one of Newt’s many social sites without sending a screen shot to hdqtrs and waiting for approval or permission... if you can imagine that! That is not a secondhand rumor because she told me herself, and was very distraught.
There has been this shift, the last 10 days, and the volunteers are just taking on as much as they can... organizing themselves, setting up their own meetings because the campaign is so clumsy and slow... and just lost, it seems..
I can no longer listen to Michael Savage due to his personal attacks on Newt that are petty and devoid of logic.
Maybe so as she is the big band artist. Not knocking it really, it just seemed odd.
Newt was magnificent!
Newt was magnificent!
Newt is the last chance for conservatives. His message was on target. Let the Democrats always win or watch the Republicans manage the decay. Take your pick.
Definitely not regular pop music. Hey, at least it wasn’t Cheryl Crow.
