Newt Gingrich was on fire at CPAC this afternoon, proving once again that the former House Speaker is political Teflon.
Apparently recovered after his epic meltdown in Nevada, Gingrich revved up the crowd at CPAC with an impassioned version of his stump speech that hit all the conservative high notes (Obamacare, taxes, war on religion, et. al.) In short, Gingrich managed to give the audience the "red meat" that his main rival Mitt Romney failed to deliver earlier this afternoon.

Get that before Newt. In my memory he has always listened to the grassroots. Find a way to tell him that the middle management of the campaign is faltering/
No one I know has made him out to be God. I have never seen that here. I don’t see him that way, though he does remind me of Sir Winston Churchill.
If you have things about Newt Gingrich you question, that is one thing you may certainly speak out about and inform others.
I have been researching all the candidates and have found character issues with Santorum I find disturbing, but informing others can be tricky, especially when a candidates supporters are feeling exuberant.
You’re right, Newt is not God. But he may have been sent from God. At least I think so and nobody will ever change my mind.
I don’t think he’s God.
I do think that if he can accomplish just TWO of the things on the list he ran through it still makes him a stronger conservative than any of the remaining candidates.
And I still believe that this time we must elect a President who can guide the country into and out of a massive economic depression, while not losing all of our freedom and liberty along the way.
Only one of them gives me any hope for that. Newt. That’s just the way I see it.
He expresses the qualities of leadership that the others do not have, and fortunately for us he’s building that foundation of leadership on a campaign of pure conservatism. That sounds about perfect to me right now.
I’m sick of the attention whore Savage. He has had moments where I enjoy his show... but for the most part he’s a total bore. The local station dropped him and I haven’t missed his yet. I was surprised to learn that he thinks he is a better novelist than Jack London... who would have known. :)
Will definitely need a third party.
I think someone is trying to already. He really does listen and I know some of his pretty high up staff, I don’t mean way up there, but above mid, comb the sites like crazy, here, and a lot of others. One lady in one of the closed groups I am in, said after Newt said that phrase ‘we don’t believe in a safety net, we believe in a trampoline.’ was just so upset because she didn’t think that ‘trampoline’ was a good image, and kept saying somebody needs to tell Newt it’s a springboard, not a trampoline... And the day after she posted that, in colorado, he used the word springboard for the first time... Well that lady actually cried when she saw Newt use the word springboard, the next day...
I have heard him refer to a video I posted on here when referring to santorum and use the exact same phrases in my post...
And he does little meetings like this all the time, no fanfare, they never make the news. But he listens, and not just for show:

We can’t let this man be destroyed... we just can’t.
Where is it being played?
Michael Savage turned out to be a Romney shill.
Yes Newt is a good man.
What is happening is interesting. Romney is flooding states with negative imagery of Newt. People who have forgotten Newt or never knew him from the 90s are getting their first impressions from Romney’s negative ads.
But Romney’s lunch is being ate by Santorum who is blindsiding Romney with his own brand of negative campaigning. All of this leaves Romney in a Quandary.
Newt is right. This campaign goes all the way to the convention and Romney gets knocked out by Texas.
Once Romney is gone, the negative ads that shape public opinion about Newt will slow down to a trickle of what they have been. At that time it will be Newt vs. Santorum and Newt’s vision, experience, knowledge, strategy and tactics should win him the nomination.
So the key is to knock out Romney.
If the Tea Party Coalition can pull together the tens of millions of followers from 2010, and a majority of TP follower donate 5 dollars to Newt’s campaign, the campaign is over and Newt sews up the nomination.
A guy on my other thread, who seemed really smart, said something along these lines...
Newt in SC blunted RS coming off Iowa - saving himself
Then Newt lost Florida
Giving MR momentum
Gingrich purposely stayed out of the next 3 and let RS take Romney down blunting his momentum out of Florida
Twice, he called it, the perfect strategy. Mr. Gingrich’s perfect strategy. I would like to think it was a strategy instead of the chips falling where they may... I don’t know what would be the next moves...
Maybe he listened or maybe great minds think alike.
Trampoline sounds like something you keep jumping up and down on without going anywhere else. But Newt is not a stubborn ass; he eventually clues in to what’s better than where he was.
Nah..Newt is not God.
But when he is on, like he usually is..he can rock the house.
CSPAN has been replaying it. It takes a bit of looking to find it.
And Thomas Sowell.
Here is my new set of worries today: No mention of Newt on any of the morning news shows, that I ran into... On Fox, romney and santorum only... Rasmussen didn’t even poll Newt in OH, just santorum and romney against barack ... We spread email addresses for specific people at rasmussen around everywhere, as well as their office number, and late tonight they added an update... blah blah blah we often only poll one or two candidates at the exclusion of others.. so if you make noise, they will do their jobs...
So Newt is getting shut out in the news, which I read was a media plan a few weeks ago... and it looks like they are doing it...
Sheldon Adelson is said by bloomberg to be backing out of giving Newt anymore money... And romney had a meeting with adelson last week... and it always seems funny things happens after romney has a visit with someone...
And I think this is coming from the repub establishment pulling all kinds of strings with the media, probably adelson, trying to get their boy Mitt in position...
So Newt, no media, no money, only the rogue republicans... and the grassroots...
What a stupid thing to say. Read the Constitution then report back.
