Thank you for posting the ABC News link to Newt’s CPAC speech, Maggie. After reading almost three hundred posts, I was dying to find a link that worked, so I could hear it for myself.
My, oh my. What more can I say? That speech was like clear cool water in a burning desert, to my ears. Newt hit every point that we patriots are most concerned with, in these dark days of The Usurper.
While watching and listening to Newt, I couldn’t help but see a president. And not just any president. I saw a man who deeply cares about this country, and who also has the right mix of understanding the fundamentals of our country’s Founding, the requisite job experience and accomplishments to prove his worth, and the backbone and testicular fortitude to lead the nation back to greatness.
I clapped my hands sore, and thought how wonderful it would be if Ronaldus Magnus were somewhere watching this, too. I know good and darned well, he’d have a huge smile on his face and that special twinkle in his eye.
I think Reagan would approve of his young lieutenant’s seasoning, and would encourage him to ‘win one for the Gipper.’ There’s no question that we must do everything in our power to ensure that Newt is the nominee in 2012. He’s in a league head and shoulders above the rest, and is the only one who’s convinced me that he’ll do what needs to be done in Washington.
